Kensington Makeup, established in 2008 by Celebrity Makeup Artist Holli Chris, is one of the largest pro-makeup and hair teams in Arizona. Specializing in bridal, corporate, and high profile beauty, Holli Chris and her team of 40+ artists complete over 300 events a year.

The Makeup Essentials Course is an introductory makeup application class that introduces the basics of makeup color theory and non-corrective makeup artistry skills. Ideal for the aspiring makeup artist, or for those interested in mastering makeup for personal application. The Makeup Fundamentals Course is designed to expand on basic makeup theory through corrective makeup artistry techniques.
Want to come in and see the Academy? Great! We would love to have you join us for our bi-monthly Academy Open House events. Watch our program presentation, chat with a career advisor, and receive a makeup goodie bag! Events are two hours, so come and go as you please within the time frame. Presentations will be given 4:00pm and 5:00pm.

I used Kensington Makeup for my wedding (both hair and makeup). I had 15 girls using their services and they were very organized and everything went super smooth on the day-of. Every girl was so happy with how their hair and makeup turned out, which was really important to me. I ended up switching artists after my trial, but they made it easy to schedule another re-trial and they really did just want me to feel good about the way I looked- which I really appreciate. When I came across Kensington I was going through a rough patch and not sure what I wanted to do. I’ve now taken a few makeup classes with them (makeup essentials, makeup fundamentals) Every instructor I’ve had has been so knowledgeable, kind and genuinely seem excited to teach. I’m glad I came across this school when I did. I feel like I now have a sense of direction I’m going for, for my career and I’m excited to take more classes with them.

I graduated the 90 hour makeup fundamentals course, and it was amazing! There was so much I didn’t know about doing makeup on others! It’s so easy to perfect a look on your own face but when it came to others there is a little more too it! My teacher Elyse is amazing and helped me feel more confident in my skill! Not only her but Holli and Natasha were available for any questions you may have had! It’s a positive environment and I would defiantly recommend! I’m already signed up for additional hair classes and makeup courses! ❤️

If you are looking for a makeup school in Arizona Kensington Makeup Academy is the place to be! I am so happy I found Kensington when I decided to switch careers and go down a path more suited toward my artistic strengths.They worked with me every step of the way, helping me through the process of schooling, perfecting my technique, finding jobs after graduating both working for Kensington and freelancing on my own. As a recent graduate, I can't say enough wonderful things about Kensington Makeup Academy. After searching through many different makeup schools, I met with the staff and owner and knew that this was the school for me. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and are very hands on to help you hone your craft. They really give you the tools you need for a career in the Makeup Industry. As a graduate of Kensington Makeup Academy, I want to say how amazing this program has been. We learned everything from basic hygiene essentials to advanced makeup looks. We also learned important business skills necessary with setting up your own business as a makeup artist. Every day in class I left learning something new. Even though graduation is done, there are still many opportunities that Kensington brings to each alumni. I started at Kensington Makeup Academy in the beginning of this year to begin my journey as a makeup artist. I had no idea what to expect and was super nervous! Holli is a great teacher with a very easy going personality and vast knowledge of makeup application. I learned so much about makeup and the beauty industry from Kensington Makeup Academy, everything from color correction to airbrush make up and the latest makeup trends!
