American Gypsy Cafe

First time trying this restaurant, came in as they were 20mins from closing, didn't know until we were here. They were very nice, and gave us a complimentary sour while they made our food. Highly recommended this place! Try the soup! Phenomenal!

They are professional in traditional PERSIAN foods and they got the BEST quality food ever. And also it is a good place for Any event such as weddings or small celebrations. They have Full bar and all kind of drinks. You gotta try their food. If I’m going to eat once a week I would come here :)

Ordered to pick up..i couldnt believe that this was persian food. Major disappointment. The barg has no seasoning and was completely flavorless. The masto khiar Was full of salt. The ingredients in the salad very old. I dont know what more to say

First time visiting here and omg the food is excellent! the koobideh kabob and are juicy and delicious. Yea Such a cute restaurant with amazing welcoming Highly recommend.

This restaurant is woeful.
QUALITY: worst kind of meats (only God knows what kind of animal meat it is). Rice is also of the poorest basmati.
PRICE: the price on their online menu seems reasonable but when you pick up the food they charge you much more even more than their printed menu which is stuffed under the glass table top.
Every other Persian restaurant include some bread, onion and greens or salad or yugort and for sure give you Sumagh (which is essential for kabab) but here none of them even after you ask for it they lie to you that they have put them in the tied to go plastic bags.

The quality of food here is extraordinarily great. Service was exceptional. We had the soltani kabob and hummus and Greek salad, and we loved it. We will be back for more. You definitely have to try this place.

If you like Persian food or want to give it a try... the American Gypsy Cafe is UH-MAZING! Great Customer service and REALLY good food!!

Been dining here for years and it's consistently good. The food here is always delicious and the staff are really nice. I would recommend this place!

Delicious food, reasonable prices and an attentive staff. I had the fillet mignon which was tender and delicious. The hummus was very good and free if you check the offer in yelp. I am not a fan of cilantro but they served a cilantro soup that was delicious. We were the only customers there for most of our visit. I hope business picks up. Would hate to lose this gem.

This is based on a take out meal picked up just after closing time on a weekday night. The service and friendliness of the owners were fantastic. However, the food was mediocre other than the rice, which was excellent.

The problem with the food was that the beef fillet kabobs were dried out. I'd give these at most two stars. The chicken barg was not bad - closer to three stars but still a little dried out.

Also had tadig with gaymeh. Not bad at all maybe even four stars but had a spice that I couldn't quite place - maybe cardamom - that was out of place.

Absolutely outstanding. The owner is the real deal... kind and proud of the authentic food he serves, which is delicious and affordable. I have been to a gazillion Persian places across the country and this is one of my new favorites.

I placed a to go order and the lovely gentleman sat me down at a table and advised me it would be 15mins. I ordered a sparkling water while i waited and he was so kind to bring me a lentil soup to try while I waited! So sweet of him and the soup was delicious. I did not have time to eat in but I will most definitely be back to dine in. Thank you so much !

My colleague, who is a dear friend, invited me to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants in town. They serve Mediterranean food that is very good. I asked for assistance on what to order, and I chose the boneless beef and chicken kabobs served with salad and Jasmine rice.
The meat was juicy and tender with a mild seasoning. It was delicious, melt in my mouth goodness. The salad was served with a fresh vinaigrette dressing, and the Jasmine rice was some of the most tender and flavorful with a cheese topping. My beverage was ice tea that paired well with my meal.

I went their last night (12/5/2020) with my family. Guys don't let the name misguide you. This is NOT an American food joint. The name of the restaurant should have been Persian Gypsy Cafe. I still don't know where the "Gypsy" comes from ....

One of THE BEST Persian cuisines I have had in my life. It felt that I am enjoying a great Koobideh dish at a restaurant in downtown Tehran.

We loved their tea as well. My baby brother does not like tea but even he had a cup of their saffron tea (with special secret ingredients from the chef). Do try their tea after the meal. Highly

This special gem is located right down the street from me and I couldn't be more grateful for that. My girlfriend really wanted some kabob and we decided to try the American Gypsy Cafe for the very first time. We showed up a little after 8:00PM and were immediately greeted by a fantastic smell and a socially distanced table to sit down at. The menu here is right under the glass on the table and full of different Persian options with tons of appetizers, chicken/beef entrees, and even salads and soups. I settled on ordering the Beef Koobideh Kabob with 2 meat skewers and basmati rice and let

This place is amazing! Last night I was in need of kabob and ended up here, and so happy I did. The menu has so many things I wanted to try so it was hard to chose, guess I'll have to come back so I can try it all!
I went with the boneless chicken and my boyfriend has the beef. The portions were huge! Both were so delicious.
Our server was also amazing!
I can honestly say I will be back soon!

This place was really great. We were in Las Vegas for a conference and we went there twice for our meals. As you can see, the amount was pretty great and the person who was there taking our orders made sure everything was fine. He even got us free desserts and unlimited free flat breads as starters. We had a falafel plate, salmon and chicken kabob. All of them come with ample amount of rice. I will definitely come back next time I’m in this area.
