Services
I don't know maybe about 50 times in the last 8 years. That's how many visits my family and I have made to cafe 1626 since our move to austin. What started out as an easy location to eat out with our small children has turned into a destination of choice when a choice is given. My youngest daughter 13 still loves the pizza buffet, my oldest daughter has moved to the salad bar and my wife and I love the burgers.

Utterly disappointed... after looking online for a hot minute we came across Soutside Flying Pizza & from pictures on IG they looked good. Ordered at the nearest location ((Menchaca)) & was utterly disappointing
Garlic knots stale and cold. Sauce was asked for; nothing came with it. Pizza was like one of those cheap HEB pizzas. Like Tony's, but worse... super oily underneath the pizza. This was a Large, but looks more like a medium.
Sorry but this isn't pizza... very sad. Should have figured something was up when there was no one inside when we pulled up.

I’m new to Austin and wanted to try some pizza, stopped by here on my way home and was greeted with a welcoming smile and lovely service from angel. The pizza was just as great as the service!!! Highly recommend ending the day with this delicious pizza. I’ll for sure be going back. Thank you angel and south side pizza for making my first experience great.

Just bad. This place used to be an excellent local spot called Cafe 1626. The new “Southside” restaurant is gross. Pizza by the slice tasted like it was microwaved from the day before and over-garlicy, and I love garlic. Greek salad was lack luster, and the $2.50 extra I paid for chicken got me maybe 2oz of cold diced chicken that was definitely not fresh. Philly cheesesteak was dry and lacking flavor. They have an arcade room where more than half of games are broken. Overall very disappointed by everything. We won’t be back. Plenty of better spots to eat in the area.

This is a review on service. Specifically the young cashier with the glasses. I ordered online ahead of time. When I arrived there to pick up 40 minutes later, the cashier asked if I could wait 5 minutes. There was nobody dining in that night, but they seemed pretty slammed with online and to-go orders. Especially since there was one cook and the one cashier. I think the shift manager briefly popped into the kitchen once or twice to help with the drive-thru window.
I came back after 5 minutes and then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes before the cashier reappeared. That is when she apparently

When you're watching a TV show and you see the characters grab a generic pepperoni pizza from their neighborhood spot, this is that pizza. It's pretty good, nothing particularly special but definitely not bad. It hits the spot when I just want a regular, thinner crust pizza w/ no surprises. I honestly haven't branched out on other toppings much, but what can I say, I love pepperoni pizza.
I will have to give them three stars though, being that they 9/10 times forget the side of ranch (delivery) and they also don't answer the phone often...and the 'King of Pepperoni' pizza looks nowhere close to

WORST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! The crust was burnt, the pizza tasted stale and there was a total of 10 pepperonis on the pizza. The picture did not reflect the product (display picture included for reference) - disappointed does not begin to cover it. Not to mention the garlic knots which were also burnt and stale - to top it off the receipt was crumpled up and tossed in the box with the food. Just ridiculous, will not be a repeat customer.
