After ten years of training in carpentry, James C. Chou opened his first furniture store in Taipei, Taiwan in 1959. Mr. Chou's expertise in carpentry brought immediate success to the business. During his tenure as a chairman of the Taipei Wooden Furniture Association from 1970 to 1976, Mr. Chou led innovations in the build and design of furniture construction.
His achievement was recognized with the "Excellence in Leadership" award. In 1980, Mr. Chou expanded the business to North America. The move not only timely accomodated the needs of Chinese clients in the Los Angeles area, but also introduced a whole new array of high quality oriental furniture and arts to the western world.

We ordered a black lacquer 59" sideboard for our new home. The ordering process was very easy and we were able to make payment via our credit card. The company personnel kept us abreast of the status of our order as it was prepared for shipment. We were advised by the company of the anticipated arrival date which was within a month of the order.

Although it took 4 months (not unexpected during these times) to receive my small Ming chest, it was definitely worth the wait. The company was lovely to deal with when I would call for updates. Delivered according to the email notification I received. Incredibly packed for shipping and was in perfect condition upon unpacking. Looks exactly how I wanted a particular space in my master bath to look.

Excellent company and service! Purchased two large cabinets a year apart. Reps were very helpful over the phone addressing my requests and following up after delivery. We were absolutely delighted with our Chinese cabinet. It is a striking addition to our dining room and provides terrific storage space for china and glassware. We were particularly impressed with the high-gloss finish, which really dresses up the room. The white-glove delivery service was all that had been claimed. Think carefully before you place an online order as returns for any reason are EXPENSIVE and this retailer operates deceptively! I originally saw the item on HOUZZ. Because I had a specific question about dimensions, I called the retailer directly. When they offered to take my order, I thought that would be easier than going back to the HOUZZ site. BIG mistake! I live in NY and was looking for new furniture for a new apartment. Came across this wonderful place. Customer service was amazing from the start. Bought 3 large pieces which were delivered (when I required it). It arrived beautifully wrapped, not 1 scratch. Their furniture is not crappy cheap Asian furniture; it is well constructed and will last for a long, long time. Beautiful array of furniture. Can not say enough about this store. The prices are in some cases over priced. They will have deals in at various times which you will need to stay on top of. WE DID PURCHASE A TABLE SET WHICH WAS OF GREAT QUALITY for a reasonable price. I can say that the staff is helpful and knowledgeable of their overstock/manufacturer. In furniture much like many things you get what you pay for. So take your time, study the fabrication and investigate the manufacturer.
