Services
Eva was born in Abilene, Texas to Siprino and Teodora (Moreno) Mendez, but raised in Baird, Texas where she graduated from Baird High School in 1990. She immediately left Baird to attend school in Dallas, at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, graduating in 1991-1992 with a degree in Mortuary Science and becoming licensed through the Texas Funeral Service Commission with a Funeral Directors and Embalmers license.
An environment of enlightened hospitality. Recognizing that families and friends gather most often at weddings and funerals, Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home has dedicated a comfortable space for fellowship and renewal of friendships. Refreshments are often served during visitations or memorial gatherings.
Funeral and Cremation costs can be very confusing. Often times other funeral and cremation providers quote a low price, but they do not give you the complete costs. There may be hidden add on charges after you have chosen to use thier services. Integrity and honesty insure a positve experience for all involved which is why we have created our "No Hidden Fee Guarantee" policy.
In appreciation for the work of those who spend their lives ensuring the safety of our community, Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home offers a special program to honor these local heroes. Should a Public Servant of Deaf Smith County, Texas be killed in the line of duty, Funeral Home arrangements (see benefits) will be provided at NO cost by Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home.
It is important to recognize that the funeral ceremony is for the living, for those who have suffered the trauma of losing a loved one. It is through the funeral process that a number of emotional needs are met. The funeral declares that a death has occurred, commemorates the life that has been lived, and offers family and friends the opportunity to pay tribute to their loved one.

Eva and her team did a wonderful job with my Dad’s funeral. From planning and coordinating to executing it perfectly and exceeding our expectations. The funeral was during the start of COVID and I greatly appreciate the level of professionalism. They provided a gift after the funeral that was so thoughtful and included so many beautiful details of my dad. Mendez and Mullins can also arrange your headstone needs. Very caring. responded very quickly and lovingly to my every need. We had to take care of all of the service from out of town so we used email, fax and text. Eva and her staff were so caring when my mother passed away. They are the most kindest and caring people. I felt they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect for us.They took very good care of my mother. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs funeral services. The Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home recently cared for my mother after her passing. They accommodated us in every way and went far above and beyond to assist us in the arrangements for her burial in another state. I have read some of the lower rated reviews here and I believe them to be posted by people who do not realize that Eva’s primary concern is for the family and the fulfillment of its wishes. We were fortunate to have the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home recommended to us and I believe we could not have received better service anywhere.

Eva and Uriah went so far above and beyond what was necessary or asked for that I do not even have the words to tell you how they touched my heart. On a practical note, I can tell you that they did such an… extremely wonderful job for my husband's funeral that my daughter and I will be in next month to plan mine, which is not pending any time soon - good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
