Services
Action Karate has been teaching martial arts for families since 1994. Head Instructor, author, and columnist Master Solomon Brenner founded Action Karate and has since grown his school to thirteen locations including this location in Plymouth Meeting. The mission of Action Karate is self-improvement and empowerment.
Every Saturday at 12:30p and 2:00p, Action Karate Plymouth hosts some of the best parties around! The first 45-60 minute is an action-packed karate lesson! The lesson is great for those new to karate as well as those who have a little experience. Kids will learn some basic moves but will also come away with some character lessons too!
I enjoyed karate as my main hobby in college and after. I worked as a Mechanical Engineer for several years after graduation, continued my training, and joined Action Karate's Leadership Team Program. Once I saw the impact I was making on people's lives, there was no comparison to corporate life, engineering, or design.
Initially, I was motivated by the fact that I had a huge passion for karate as a student. Then when I realized that I was making a difference in people's lives, that motivated me on a much deeper, more personal level. The most important lesson that I hope to impart on our students is to have self-discipline.
Twice each week is perfect attendance. However, classes are always unlimited. If your child would like to train more often, and you are able to bring them, go for it! If you are going to miss a week of classes, be sure to call your instructor just so we're not worried about you and so we can make up those missed lessons.

I have been training with Master Dwyer and have been taking martial arts classes at Action Plymouth since I was 6 years old. Almost 19 years later I’ve achieved more than just a 4th degree black belt... I was brought into an amazing family and given a much greater education than I ever could have imagined, as well as a career!!!! The life lessons that I learned here really helped get me through school and give me the confidence and perseverance I needed in life. I don’t know where I would be without this place!

Action karate is a fantastic place not only to learn new skills but a place to meet good people. In today's world it can be hard to find good role models and friends for kids and even for adults. Action Karate allows a person to come in and find that role model or that friend that can help you throughout life. In my opinion my classmates are a most like family.

Action Karate Plymouth Meeting is, by far, the BEST Karate School in the Area (From Upper Roxborough - Norristown)! Master Dwyer and his Team have a High level of Expertise coupled with Professionalism and Friendliness that is Unmatched. My children have gained a family-like bond of trust with the instructors, while maintaining a level of discipline and respect you find in a school setting! Best of all, I was able to take adult classes to help set an example, not just for my children, but WITH my children regarding the weekly "lessons of life". (i.e. Perseverance, Respect, Goals, Self-Discipline

Returning to America after 3 years abroad, I was 9 years old and looking for a fun, challenging, and social sport to stick with. Karate was a perfect match, and I got my junior black belt at the end of 6th grade. I took a break and returned the start of 9th grade, soon discovering my breathing during exercise was worsening. It's tough, but my classmates and instructors have been by my side to keep me patient and positive. Now I'm finally testing for my adult black belt!

The training I have received is invaluable and something that I will never be able to thank Master Dwyer and the other students at Action Karate enough or repay them for. Martial arts training, in particular through Action Karate, has had an immense positive influence on me personally, and on my family. Training has been physical, mental, and spiritual and has spilled over into all aspects of my life. I feel it is an honor and a privilege to be invited to test for a black belt in June 2013.
Physically I am stronger and more fit than I was before I started training. I am more conscious of better
