As a child of one of the residents, who pay to "live" there, it saddens me to hear of the way these people are treated and spoken to. They basically are treated as children who are given rules and regulations that make their homes more like prison cells. Even before Covid there were constricting rules put in place that impede social activities, routine activities and enjoyment of the facility and its residents. This is their home, not a business. The board and the people who work there need to remember that.

Before new management Shawmee 11 was a wonderful, happy place to live. In the past two years, and way prior to covid, it was apparent that residents were of little or no value, Apparently, the "rules" and saving money are the primary concern. Residents feel disregarded, treated as children, and crave being treated with warmth and empathy. It is sad to hear residents of many years, who once were so happy, now expressing their sadness. It is difficult to recommend this facility to anyone.
