With over a 3000 year history, acupuncture is a complete and all natural system of healing that was developed in what is known as China today. This system of healing involved the stimulation of specific points (acu-points) on the body through various means. In modern times, acupuncture is most notably known for stimulating these acupoints by the insertion of hair-thin, solid, sterilized, one-time use only needles.
Aroma Acupoint Therapy or AAT for short, was co-developed by Peter Holmes, L.Ac, Master Herbalist, Aromatherapist, the Founder of Snow Lotus Essential Oils and Tiffany Carole Pollard, MS, L.AC, LMP. Aroma Acupoint Therapy uses Certified Organic Artisan Essential Oils combined with light touch on acupuncture points in order to balance the flow of energy on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
There are many insurance companies that cover acupuncture nowadays. Most State and Federal insurance plans and School related plans cover acupuncture. Examples of plans that many of my patients have include Horizon BCBS Direct, Meritain, and Aetna. If you are unsure if you have Out of Network Acupuncture coverage we will do a complimentary acupuncture benefits check with a copy of your insurance card and your date of birth.
Qigong translates to 'Energy Work' and is a root term for what used to be called Tao Yin. Qigong is used by millions of people around the world as a form of health enhancement. There are hundreds of styles of Qigong based on your specific needs that you could do. For example you could practice the 8 Section Brocade which consists of 8 standing slow moving exercises that move energy through your whole body.
If you have ever said to yourself that you can't stop thinking, then meditation is highly recommended. Meditation is the art of learning how to focus on 1 thing only. By learning how to focus on one thing, then you can begin to become centered. The health benefits of meditation are too numerous to list however the biggest one is overcoming anxiety.
