Bring Change to Mind is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging dialogue about mental health, and to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy. Actress & activist Glenn Close co-founded Bring Change to Mind in 2010 after her sister, Jessie Close, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and her nephew, Calen Pick, with schizoaffective disorder.
When your friends need someone to listen, do they often turn to you? Are you able to understand how people feel, even if they don't actually say it? If so, a career in mental health might be right for you. And you're needed now more than ever. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the #DanceYourSocksOffChallenge lets people showcase their fun and creative side while also raising money for Bring Change to Mind.

Grand Central Station was transformed into a set for the first BC2M PSA, which launched the organization. Directed by Ron Howard and complemented by John Mayer's donated song Say, hundreds of individuals joined the Close Family proudly wearing BC2M t-shirts to spark a conversation about mental health.
The fact is, a mental illness is a disorder of the brain - your body's most important organ - and one in four adults experience mental illness in a given year, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD. Like most diseases of the body, mental illness has many causes - from genetics to other biological, environmental and social / cultural factors.
We create multimedia campaigns, curate storytelling movements, and develop youth programs to encourage a diverse cultural conversation around mental health. BC2M activates and empowers you to join our fight to end stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.
United, we will create and advance innovative approaches and partnerships to start conversations around mental illness, share resources, and tell stories so everyone can thrive in a stigma free world.Bring Change to Mind grew out of an unyielding determination to end discrimination surrounding mental health.

One in four people will be affected by a mental illness at some point of their lives, and while there are effective treatments available, more than 50% of people living with a mental illness will not seek help because of stigma. A lack of understanding is preventing millions of people from leading full and successful lives.
Bring Change to Mind's Undergrad Program was piloted in 2014 at Indiana University. The program empowered students to create fun educational mental health awareness events and campaigns for the university. This ultimately encouraged open dialogue and built an inclusive campus climate through providing a range of adaptable anti-stigma materials.
