NAMI San Francisco helps families and individuals affected by mental health conditions build better lives through education, support, and advocacy. Add your voice to the mental health movement and help us build better lives for the millions of people touched by mental illness. The biggest reason to get involved is self-discovery and recovery.
The more a person gets involved with mental health awareness, the more that person finds out about himself through introspection and volunteer efforts. If you're looking for a way to improve your mental health, the best thing you can do is get involved with an organization like NAMI SF. NAMI SF was the support I needed to get me back on mental and physical track and because of their support, my story no longer controls me, I control it.

Services
NAMI support groups offer participants an opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees. Groups provide a safe space to address the challenges presented by mental health conditions regardless of the specific diagnosis. The groups are free of charge and are confidential.
NAMI educational classes provide information on how to manage living with a mental health condition and strategies for taking care of yourself, or the person you love. These multi-week classes provide mutual support and shared positive impact-experience compassion and reinforcement from people who understand your situation.
Stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to treatment. The average delay between the onset of mental health symptoms and treatment is 8 to 10 years. The perception of mental illness won't change if we don't take action. Talk about mental health conditions and learn how you can make a difference to support others.
Contact us for free information, resources, or to speak to a friendly volunteer who understands. Emotional support and information about mental health resources from people with lived experience. These People are tone deaf when you have a need for supportive mental health services ! they are only for the family (perhaps to make themselves feel better) but the people who are suffering the most can't get any actual services it's a revolving door of "go check the website"-- really pathetic these people have jobs and they're not helping those of us who have a real need--
