My husband and I were married last year, and we were concerned about how it would affect the way we filed our taxes. We didn't need to worry with Mariette on the job, however. We LOVE Mariette. This is the second year my husband and I have worked with her on our taxes. Last year was our first time using a tax professional. We had both gotten new jobs with significantly different salaries, had gotten married, and had purchased our first home, so we wanted to find someone to help guide us through a suddenly more complicated tax process.

Mariette is very nice and professional. She was also very prompt with returning calls and addressing any of my concerns. However, I just received a notice that my State return was misfiled resulting in it being delivered (hopefully) in October and that it will be $400.00 less than the amount that was originally filed.
In her defense I did move from one state to another in the middle of the year so my taxes were more tricky than those for someone who had one state to file with. Never the less, it has caused some unexpected problems with a current vacation that I have been planning and saving up

Mariette is great. She's a true professional in that she knows what she'd doing and she respects her clients, and she hasn't an awesome, personable approach. It was a big deal to me that she worked our meeting into my schedule and met me at a location that was convenient for me. Also, she believes in putting together your taxes in a hard copy binder, which isn't an industry standard. Easier to find a hard copy binder than a thumb drive.

I had just started my business and needed a new accountant - Mariette was recommended to me. Mariette patiently helped me through all of the new information I needed to be aware of, and was very fair with her time. She is also fun to work with! I have done my own taxes for years, but I purchased my first home this year and was a bit worried. I went back and forth on if I should have it done professionally, but a friend recommended her.
Mariette didn't just do my taxes she showed what I did wrong in my first draft! Very cool! I even got a nice little book when it was all done.
I have a VERY nice return coming this year. ^__^
