Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) is a not-for-profit child care organization. It was established in 1971 after a study by the Village of Mt. Kisco and Interfaith Council of Mt. Kisco. The Center opened its doors in 1971 to 25 three- and four-year old children in rented classroom spaces. Today, the Center cares for over 145 children, ages three months to twelve years of age, throughout the year.
Mount Kisco Child Care Center has an educational and developmental program that is both accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and meets the licensing standards of New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We are proud to be among a handful of early childhood care and education facilities in Northern Westchester with that distinction.
Toddler A Head Teacher and Toddler Program Supervisor, Vanessa Kardos, became a teacher out of her love for children and for the rewarding experience in helping them build a solid foundation for the rest of their lives. She loves reading to her toddlers and feels strongly that emphasizing literacy at a young age strengthens these foundations.
In our infant rooms, we create a warm, nurturing environment that acts as an extension of our infants' homes. Infants are provided with daily opportunities that encourage social and emotional development, speech and language, cognitive growth, and fine and gross motor development through group and independent activities.
Toddlers love to explore the world around them. The toddler rooms are designed to allow children to use all of their senses to learn and grow. Toddlers are engaged in activities and experiences designed to meet their emerging skills in language, socialization and personal autonomy. In addition, the toddlers have their own playground, a place where they can run and jump and climb and develop those large motor skills as well.
