Dr. Galatzer-Levy provides expert opinions and forensic consultation to courts and attorneys. He has extensive experience providing expert testimony and performing evaluations for the courts and administrative bodies such as licensing commissions and ethics committees. He coedited The Scientific Basis of Child Custody Decisions, now in its second edition a national recognized text on custody evaluations.
Dr. Galatzer-Levy is available to consult with mental health professionals either on a single incident or ongoing basis about clinical problems, ethical issues, practice management and development, and for educational purposes. Over the years, groups of mental health professionals have organized themselves into "consultation groups" who have come to Dr. Galatzer-Levy together for group consultation.
This is an ongoing seminar, in which we are systematically conducting a close reading of Sigmund Freud's collective works. This year will focus on the period 1905 through 1910. The seminar, which meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month at the Institute for Psychoanalysis, is open to anyone interested in the careful exploration of Freud's writings.
