Today, you have taken an important step in taking control of your life! The decision to start therapy isn't always an easy one, and it usually comes after you've tried to solve your problems on your own, or by speaking with friends and/or family. Therapy isn't the only thing that's therapeutic; but it is a good place to start when you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, confused, or upset.
By speaking to a professional, such as myself, you will get emotional support, clarity, and learn new ways to cope with difficult feelings and situations. I will help you get to know yourself better, and love yourself more. By recognizing and removing obstacles that stand between you and what you need, and by clarifying and pursuing the path that is right for you, you are likely to feel happier, more fulfilled, and more empowered.

I wanted to be a psychologist for as long as I remember! After getting my Bachelor's from SUNY Binghamton, I attended Yeshiva University (Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology), where I earned my Master's and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology; while at Yeshiva University, I was co-editor of the research journal, for the graduate school.
When you first come to therapy, expect to find visible, convenient parking, under the building. Enter the secure building, and at the first floor, the receptionist will direct you to seating, right outside my office. I will find you there, and welcome you into a comfortable space, where you will have a chance to tell me, about whatever you are carrying.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - teaches the client (You) to recognize and change self-sabotaging perspectives and behaviors to more helpful ones, which results in improved mood and relationships. The belief guiding this approach is that we document and shape our own experience, and can learn to see ourselves, others, and the world differently and better.
This is an area which often causes stress. There's no way around that completely, but I do what I can to make therapy affordable and accessible. Insurance: Currently, I participate with Aetna and Cigna. If you use either of these insurance providers, please contact them prior to your first session to confirm your coverage, copay, deductible, balance owed on your deductible, and the number of sessions covered annually.
