Jacob Tebbs PA-C has joined with Dr. Portela and Treasure Valley Dermatology in 2020 after 3 years of dermatology experience in Saint Cloud MN. Jacob is originally a Utah native with interest in the full scope of dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Jacob graduated with his Physician Assistant masters degree in 2016 from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT and is excited to bring his skills and talents to Idaho under the direction of Dr. Portela.Jacob's focus as a provider is to be patient centered and detail oriented in order to provide excellent patient care.

Acne is the single most common skin disorder and one of the most common conditions we see at Treasure Valley Dermatology. Almost everyone develops acne at some point and about half of the population eventually requires medical treatment. It typically begins with puberty, but may also occur after the teenage years.
Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is the most common cancer diagnosed in the United States. In fact, 1 out of 4 fair-skinned adults will develop a BCC in their lifetime. It most commonly appears as a pearly, pink bump on the skin that bleeds and never fully heals. BCC is a slow growing tumor that spreads locally, damaging tissue as it invades.
Fortunately, most of the skin growths our patients see us about each day are benign (non-cancerous). While the most important thing we can do is assure you a spot isn't cancer, treatment of these bothersome growths is usually possible. Diagnosis is not always straight forward, which is why we always recommend you see a dermatologist specifically trained to diagnose conditions of the skin.
