O'Shea & O'Shea Cosmetic & Family Dentistry
Do you like your smile? Cosmetic Dentistry can be something as simple as a tooth colored bonding on a front tooth or as complex as rebuilding an entire mouth. If there is something you don't like about the way your teeth look, we would love to show you what is possible with modern dentistry. Most everyone knows that "you're supposed to go to the dentist every six months."

For most people this is true, but some people need more attention through the year while some do not. Our hygiene team is absolutely top notch and passionate about making sure our patients are on the right plan and on top of their oral health. New Patients Exams can best be described as a "tour of your oral health."
Services
Michelle has been working for O'Shea Dentistry since 1994. She attended North Georgia College and received her A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene at DeKalb College. After 19 years as a hygienist, Michelle is now our Front Office Manager and the initial voice and face of the practice. This transition has allowed her to still see all of her patients that she now considers friends.
We want to thank you for choosing O'Shea Dentistry for your oral health. We would like to give you a bit of information on what to expect during your first visit with us. We call it the "New Patient Experience" because it is more than just an average dental appointment, it is the start of our partnership in health with you.
Coming from Clairemont take a left at the light at the Commerce Dr. intersection. First Baptist Church will be on the right and the 2 further left lanes will turn, stay in the right side of the left lane. Once you turn you will see the building COMMERCE PLAZA. The days of using messy putty to make impressions of your teeth and gums are over. With the iTero Digital Impression System, we can now say, "No more goop!". The advanced technology of digital impressions is far more accurate and convenient than ever before. With the iTero Element Scanner, we can digitally capture a detailed 3D image of your teeth and gums.
A narrow maxilla (upper arch) is one of the most common orthodontic problems seen in developing children and 'non-developing adults. If this is left untreated in children, it can lead to severe crowding and cause an anterior or posterior crossbite. Also, left untreated, it can inhibit the normal development of the mandible (lower arch), creating a skeletal Class II (commonly known as an overjet).

I have seen Mindy as my hygienist for over a year now. She’s extremely competent, explains the process well and has a great attitude. I couldn’t be more pleased with her work.

Dr. Shannon and the staff took such care for us in an already new season of parenthood with the unknowns around lip- and tongue-tie revisions. We felt known and heard from the moment we walked in the door with a personalized sign welcoming us in to the post-procedure recommendations that set us up for success beyond the several appointments we had.
Highly recommend for your family!

Dr Shannon is amazing as are the staff and clinical support team! Everyone was kind, compassionate, and understanding. Dr Shannon was very knowledgeable, competent and thorough— excellent bedside manner and, with our little 8 week old having to have a procedure, put our concerns to rest before the procedure and prepared us well for the healing and recovery process. Can’t recommend them enough!

Judging by the other posts here, the O’Shea team doesn’t need another rave review from me— but I have a different insight to share. In these pandemic times, even though triple-vaxxed I still have concern for Covid with my mask off for dental procedures, but can’t stay away because my teeth are a hot mess! I was in recently and took my CO2 monitor which measures rebreathed air (good proxy for Covid risk indoors). I couldn’t believe the readings. The CO2 levels measured in the low 500’s in waiting and treatment rooms— great indoor numbers, actually close to outdoor readings. This means

While I’m a longtime patient of O’Shea Dentistry, I remain in awe of their professionalism, the friendly atmosphere, and their highly competent staff. I had an emergency recently and Stephanie valiantly came to my rescue in short order. I am very grateful and fortunate to have maintained a great relationship with O’Shea Dentistry over many years and counting! They are fantastic!

I had gone to the same dental office and had the same dental hygienist for 30 years before I recently moved from NY to GA. I was sad to say goodbye. Yesterday I was absolutely thrilled with my first appointment at O’Shea Dentistry. I believe I had the best, most comfortable and thorough cleaning and examination of my life. The hygienist, Mindy, was fantastic! She thought of everything to make the process as pleasant as possible. Then I was examined by Dr. Punjani. She was wonderful too! I learned more about my mouth in one visit than I did in 30 years at my former dentist’s. She explained exactly

The staff is warm, communicative, and very professional. Kaitlin, who got us scheduled and worked with us on insurance questions etc, was awesome — so warm and helpful. Dr. Shannon and Carrie were fantastic and helped us to feel informed and at ease with our child’s procedure.

We have only good things to say about O’Shea Dentistry. They have been my/our family dentist for well over 30 years. My husband was one of Dr. Tim’s first patients when he started his practice. I started seeing Dr. Tim shortly after my husband and I got engaged back in 1990. Dr. Tim even took care of my elderly father when he moved in with us back in 2006. And now that his son, Dr. Matt, is running the practice, the legacy of quality care continues. I recently had some major crown replacement work done by Dr. Punjani and the level of care is top-notch. The dental hygienists really want to make

They performed the procedures I requested; however, after every visit I received a bill above what my insurance had paid. Dentistry is not brain surgery and people have many choices available to them and I have decided to move on!

The final straw, they charged me over 1,800 dollars for a crown by their back up Dentist, who did a decent job. My insurance paid just over 700 and I paid the rest. Weeks later I got an additional bill for 105 dollars; they claimed the insurance didn't pay in full what they had billed. I complained about it, but Michelle from their office left a message stating

I have been going here for years. The staff is awesome and helpful. The hygienists are super nice and thorough. The dentists are efficient, respect your time, and do good work. I have never been asked to do additional work, felt pressured to do anything cosmetic I did not need, or left unfulfilled (hahaha). My husband also goes here. We love them.

I love O'Shea and O'Shea! I have had old metal fillings for a while, but they were able to replace them with new 3D fillings. They feel great! I can now eat ice cream again! Thank you so much!

I waited to write this review until I had a second opinion because I didn't want to solely rely on my gut. I went to O'Shea and O'Shea after I was referred by my brother in law. I was new in town and needed to get a good teeth cleaning and exam. I was a little nervous, as I have really only had one dentist and one hygienist my whole life. Overall, I felt that the younger O'Shea was just too aggressive in his interventions for me and their billing practices had some hints of dishonesty.

Let me start out with the positive: Everyone was very friendly and timely.

And the negative

Really the only dentist who compares to Dr. Matt and his team was back home in AZ. So I'm extremely grateful to have found such kind and wonderful people here in his office to take care of my smile. Monica, my hygienist, is sweet and very gentle on my mouth unlike some previous hygienists I have had. She obviously cares deeply about her role here! And Dr. Matt is about one of the nicest men I have met here in Atlanta, who is very smart and with a huge heart for people, and definitely one of the best doctors I've ever had. Among he and his team (Dr. Jacquot and Dr. Brady if you're

I'm not sure who I always get on the phone but, by far ... They have the friendliest, most helpful staff that I have ever encountered. They call you back, they help with insurance, polite, etc. They are such a breath of fresh air. They even remember me and I've only been there once.
Also, I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and the hygienist never made me feel bad or guilty. She was amazing - even though I was running late trying to find the building. I love this place - well worth the drive from Marietta to Decatur. I'm glad a co-worker recommended them.

I highly recommend O'Shea & O'Shea Family Dentistry. My husband and I had our first visit yesterday and just had a wonderful experience. Checking in was a breeze thanks to Michele who made the whole process, from scheduling to checkout super easy. The doctor (Dr. Terry O'shea) was extremely nice, patient , and informative, and the Hygienist (Monica) was equally great. If you are looking for a dentist, I HIGHLY recommend this practice. They have our business for life.

They may not be in-network (on my insurance). They may be more expensive for me. I really miss my Chicago dentist. But this place is great.

My hygienist was really nice and interesting. The receptionist put me down on a waiting list and gave me a call when she had a cancellation so I could get in as a new patient earlier. I even could have my Chicago dentist email my records to my new dentist.

I had the son as my dentist. He was not communicative, but given the fact that I had a great experience here and I have no problems with my teeth, I'll give that a pass.

The location is convenient

My 4-year-old daughter had been to another dentist once before, and wouldn't even open her mouth. But Dr. O'Shea's office was great! Scheduling was easy, and Michelle said she understands the shyness issue. My kid went back with no questions, and did fantastic! Our whole family will be switching to this office because of the great service and convenient location.

This father and son operation is everything you could want in a dentist's office. The staff is great and the whole place is clean, well-organized and so inviting. My dental hygienist really knew what she was doing and seemed to really love her work. It showed! I look forward to being a patient here for many years!

I have a huge dental fear after bad work on top of bad work. Most dentists seem put out when I let them know that I'm in need of more Novocaine, but Dr. O'Shea was very attentive and made me promise I would let him know if I needed more numbing.

The equipment is so state of the art that he could make a jig saw puzzle piece of a tooth for me right in the office. What I thought would be yet another root canal and crown to the tune of $2000 turned out to be a $275 quick fix. He took out the old filling cleaned the area and put in the jig saw puzzle piece to fill the tooth back up
