Lemelson Vineyards began as a dream - a dream to create a winery that celebrates innovation in technology, sustainability in agriculture, and tradition in winemaking. Utilizing organic farming methods and gravity flow production, we craft estate grown Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling from some of the finest vineyards in the Willamette Valley.
Eric Lemelson fell in love with Pinot noir's subtle flavors and distinct textures early in the 1990s. He planted his first vineyard in 1995, five years after moving to a Yamhill County farm.

My life revolves around the Earth - I'm an earthy kinda guy, or so my closest ones have always told me. Originally an East Coaster, I got off the plane way back when to go to Reed College, and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest on Day One. Truth is, when you really experience Oregon, what's there not to like?

Eric Lemelson entered the wine business with a set of core values from his environmental background and longstanding commitment to Oregon. These values help guide his decision making at all stages of viticulture and winemaking. Lemelson Vineyards has farmed its vineyards organically from the beginning, in part because of Eric's belief in organic farming.

When our hotel room check-in in Portland was delayed by several hours unexpectedly, the hotel gave us free drinks in their bar - where we chose a Lemelson pinot noir by chance. It was so astonishingly good, we were all struck silent and we promptly changed our plans for the next day, just so that we could pay a visit to this winery we'd not had on our original wine itinerary. What a fortunate discovery! That was several years ago, and several cases of their delicious pinot have crossed my threshold since then. My go-to red wine for drinking at home, taking to parties and giving as gifts.

In addition to the exceptional wine, the hospitality of this winery cannot be overstated. They do a superb job making you feel at home and as part of the Lemelson family. The estate is absolutely lovely as well and the fireplace on the patio a nice touch for the colder months. In short, there's nothing better than spending a sunny afternoon sipping a Lemelson Mayer vineyard pinot noir on their patio!

The court yard was lovely. We loved watching the bees buzz around the large lavender bushes. We had a white wine lover and this was the only place that served a Chardonnay and Riesling. They also offered a cheese board for purchase and we noticed other wineries didn’t offer food. Rating this 4 stars because the views from the website do not represent the views you’ll have while seated. Our server was low energy.

What a lovely experience! We were down for an event in wine country and were fortunate enough to find time to visit Lemelson!
Right to the good stuff...the wines - the Pinot Gris has just the right hint of acidity and a gorgeous texture - it was a perfect pairing for our cioppino later that day!
The Chestnut Hill Pinot Noir - was beautifully aromatic and medium bodied with lots of delicious berry notes! It served it's designed purpose well, when called to sacrifice itself for cedar plank wild king salmon, with roasted brussel sprouts.
The grounds are amazing, and if you are offered a tour, TAKE
