Owner and winemaker Dan's definition of Utopia is: "The perfect place, and no place." If you visit our tasting room, you will understand why. The winery has been consistent over the last 20 years in being "an approachable safe haven for the wine interested." Does it sound like a visit to Utopia could be added to your travel itinerary? You won't regret it. Founder & winemaker Dan Warnshuis personally oversees the management of the vineyard, the harvest, and the winemaking process.

Excellent wine (the pinot blanc and pinot noir are must-tries!), gorgeous views, family-friendly (try your hand at bocce ball), dog-friendly, relaxed, classy yet unpretentious ambience, and extremely well-priced tastings! What more can you ask for? This winery works for all occasions, whether you're on a date, doing a small-group get-together, or getting together with a large group of friends/family. They know their wine, and it shows. Don't miss out on this lovely family-owned winery.

Love this place. Dan, the owner has deep passion and knowledge about wine and he created fun, cozy and beautiful place. We tasted Different vintage of Pino Nor, could tasted huge different between 2016 and 2015. All grapes are made at his estate and organic certified. I also loved Grenache which their grapes come from Eastern Oregon but nice body and some combination of fruit and tanning gave a lot of complex flavors.
Perfect to come back here for summer time, bring picnic, sip wines and play bocce balls!

I hate to give bad reviews but if I can give a review of 0 stars here I would. Utopia Vineyards is not the problem as so much as the owner of the place Daniel. He is a disgusting, rude, loser who should learn how to speak to people and realize that he is in the hospitality business but obviously lacks the manners or gentleman like skills for his vineyard. Please do not come here if you are a person with taste and respect. Daniel is a complete A--hole!

Great wine, great Pinot noir... it's amazing. Highly recommended... give it a try. Yelp wants me to keep writing...My only complaint about Utopia is that I wish the pours were a little bit larger... But anyway, I would expect to pay $40 and up for a bottle of Pinot, so their prices were average. Very good!

Truly excellent, eclectic and natural wine. The opposite of pretentious or fussy like so many other tasting room. And also a ton of fun to talk to Daniel the owner and wine maker. The whites and roses were truly exceptional. 2014 Chardonnay was complex, not buttery but earthy and subtle. The Pinot noir bland “bliss” is just great and unlike anything else here.

Great wines! Love love love their Viognier every time! I also like their reserve Pinots (duh). They are a great part of the Ribbon Ridge AVA loop and a place I will stop every time I am in the area.
The patio is really lovely. Comfy wine barrel chairs, plentiful umbrellas, and two really well-made bocce courts. A beautiful view on the top of the hill to boot. His tasting room is small, but cozy.
Dan and his family are awesome too. It's a family-run vineyard, and they are happy to trade jokes, share their wine knowledge, and even to jump in for a bocce game.

Utopia is a casual, informal tasting room where we were able to talk directly to the winemaker, an interesting guy who worked in Silicon Valley in a past life, and successfully left to pursue his real passion for winemaking.
Now, he's creating some very tasty wine, and as he pointed out to us, his 2008 Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge ended up on Portland Monthy's, "50 Best Oregon Wines" list with a 95 rating. Not too shabby.
What made this a good tasting experience was that unmistakably homey feel: mellow, friendly dogs walking the grounds, the winemaker hanging out in the tasting
