The Tampa Bay Black Business Investment Corporation, Inc. (BBIC) is a U.S. Treasury certified Community Development Entity dedicated to providing business and funding opportunities for the long-term growth and success of small businesses.

Tampa Bay BBIC was established as a nonprofit in 1987 to serve businesses owned and operated by African-American entrepreneurs, providing loans to a historically underserved market segment of the community, but now serves entrepreneurs of all ethnic backgrounds.
Albert Lee started his banking career more than 20 years ago after graduating from Florida A&M University with a degree in Business Economics. He was recruited by a regional bank in Tampa where he received training in all aspects of banking, including: commercial credit analysis, underwriting, commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, consumer lending and retail bank management.
Tampa Bay BBIC provides direct loans to businesses in need of funding for continued operations and growth. Without a third party involved, Tampa Bay BBIC has greater discretion and often has lower rates and fees than loans obtained by businesses through regular means. This loan product can also be used to fund working capital needs, equipment purchases, inventory and real estate.
As small business owners with an earnest desire to grow and sustain a profitable business, we knew that working on our business was as important as working in our business. We also understood the value of partnering with an organization that would assist us with implementing our growth strategy. We partnered with the Tampa Bay BBIC in 2011 when we had just 3 employees.
