We'll be back! Had the kabobs- chicken and seasoned ground beef. The chicken was just a little spicy, so I ended up liking the seasoned beef best. Husband liked both. The rice is not boring white rice -really good version here. Baba ghanoush also great. Prices very reasonable!! Order at counter and food will be delivered to your table.

I use to love this place and always ordered the beef or lamb kabob, both use to be seasoned to perfection. I'm unsure if they have a new cook since covid hit, but the meat is way too salty and the rice is under seasoned. I've been there twice just too see if it was a fluke, but they definitely have a new cook.

I was in the area and needed some lunch and stopped in here. Wow! Was really impressed. The menu is pretty cool. There's a lot to choose from. They are very aware of gluten-free and it was easy to order. I didn't feel like I was going to get accidentally glutened and had a great meal. I went with the lamb and shrimp combo and I really liked it. The sauce was really good as well. I would opt for regular white rice next time as I'm not a big fan of the spiced rice.

Great food, disappointing customer service.
I have ordered delivery from this place a number of times. Their hummus is very tasty and everything I have eaten from there is either good or great. The reason for my low review is their poor customer service.
I placed an order on GrubHub with a pre-scheduled delivery of 11:45 AM. To be clear, while I did order through GrubHub, Maiwand does its own deliveries so they are in change of getting the food to customers.
My order was acknowledged by the restaurant by 11AM and had an estimated delivery of 11:45-12. By 12:15 my order still had not shown up

I came here because I was in Baltimore for an appointment and happened to walk by. As a lover of Indian, Pakistani, and Afghan foods, I thought I'd give it a shot....
Best afghan food I've had in a long time. The spices, prep, and cooking was the perfect combination of artistry. The entree portion was enough for me to eat a full mean and bring the rest home for another full meal.
Next time I'm in Baltimore, I will absolutely stop here again.

I really love this place. It is becoming more and more of a staple lunch stop for me. I love that I can get food for lunch and it lasts through dinner, which helps tremendously!
GROWS:
-I love the tandoori chicken -- chicken tikka
- The service is quick and efficient ( call your order on about 20 minutes before you need it and go to pick it up)
- Their samosas are smaller than Indian samosas and I like that!
I have my go to order, but they have an expansive menu, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer.

First of all, maybe we shouldn't have ordered off of UberEats. The pictures on the Yelp were way different from what we received. The Gyro Platter is supposed to come with fries according to the menu, but we got 1/4 of a very bland pita. None of the flavors were super impressive. The basmati rice tasted very bland and oily. The meat seasoning was bland and the meat was crumbles, which I'm not used to for gyro plates. We also ordered an appetizer of baba ganoush. It didn't come with pita, which it didn't say it would, but in previous experience that usually happens. Most importantly

WOW. Decided to walk here for dinner one night and for two people, we ordered the fried cauliflower and chicken and beef platter to share. We were told it would take a little long and the wait time was normally faster, which we appreciated, but it wasn't too bad a wait at all. The platter came out first, and upon seeing we were sharing, when the cauliflower came out, we were also given two extra plates and extra silverware. That was so nice and great service.
The cauliflower was soooo yummy. My husband who hates all veggies and doesn't touch cauliflower unless it is riced, enjoyed it

Falafel Platter with Fries & Baklava
Pros: Customer Service was great, my food came out pretty quickly. I walked in and ordered. The restaurant was clean and empty but I chose to dine in and enjoyed that part of the experience.
The large portions is def a plus. You could prob make this stretch over 2-3 meals really. Great bang for your buck.
The rice, naan and hummus were spectacular. The baklava was good too, it was my first time trying it.
Cons: This is Possibly skewed due to my own personal preferences, but I found the falafel to be fried a bit hard. Again you get a lot which is nice. The

I ordered the "Five crispy chicken wings and fries." It was $9.99. when it came it was FOUR buffalo wings, not whole wings. (So horribly over priced!) They were not crispy. The fries were cold. The only saving grace was the Bolani. It was amazing! Crispy dough wrapper filled with potatoes, onions, and spices. I would definitely get that again. Don't get the chicken wings though. Not worth it.

Not sure where to start... Both food and service was horrible. On top of all that the manager in charge had an attitude after we had complained... Chicken and red meat was not marinated properly and was very dry... Humus was overly salted... Kids chicken tenders were nearly burnt... Only thing that was decent was their chickpeas with naan... Bring your own wipes cause the tables were sticky...

I've gotten take-out here twice and all of my meals are delicious! The first time I ordered a falafel wrap and any restaurant that puts fries in their wraps is a winner in my heart. The flavors are incredible, so well balanced and spiced with the option to toss on their hot red sauce that has incredible flavor in addition to the heat. The second time I ordered the falafel and tahini fries and a falafel platter. YUUUUM!! I had never thought that tahini and fries could go together and wow is it an amazing combination. You can share these or if you want a quick lunch get an order for yourself

This place is truly a gem in the heart of the city! So glad I found it because everything, from the service to the food, was incredible. I ordered my food and got it within fifteen minutes, even with a busy lunch rush (an obvious sign of how popular this place is)!
And now onto the food!! I got the Chicken Kabob and the Chicken and Rice. OMG! The chicken was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, and the pita that came with it was warm and chewy and was the perfect pillow for the chicken. Amazing flavor combination with the rice, chicken, pita, and the sauces given on the side and on top of

I've never had Afghani food, and Maiwand Grill welcomed me warmly to this cuisine! I stopped by towards the end of the week for some bread and hummus after stopping by earlier in the week for a falafel wrap (I just couldn't stay away!).
First things first, parking is a struggle in this area, but the hassle is worth the food! Street parking is available, but limited. There's also a parking garage right next to the restaurant's entrance. Another quick note: from the outside, the restaurant looks closed/shuttered, but it is in fact open!

Maiwand Grill has been my go to take out / delivery spot!! It's always a good choice ! I get a descent amount of food that is flavorful, bright , and light! I know I order at least twice a week! You get a choice of sides but you have to type it in via the service that I use. I always ask for extra onions and they give me extra!!! Onion I love it ! Lots of fresh food for an affordable price ! They will continue to be my go to .

I've been to Maiwand once a long time ago but I don't remember it being this good! I ordered the lamb platter along with tandoori garlic naan with baklava for dessert! The platter itself was delicious. The rice wasn't too hard or soft, perfectly cooked and the spices that went into it paired well with the sauce and the delicious tender, flavorful lamb. I ate the bread rice and lamb together and dipped it in the green sauce and it was a great pairing. The baklava was super crispy and flaky (my first time having it) and the inside wasn't super sweet like a lot of American desserts

Was in mood for a wrap and found maiwand. I ordered a kofta wrap (kofta is ground beef) and I asked to add beef cubes to it as well since I couldn't decide between the kofta and beef wrap :)
My brother got a lamb wrap and we also got an appetizer of pumpkin.
My wrap was really good! The kofta tasted like it was home made (which is good)! It was spicy (flavorful) but not burn your mouth spicy. Super tender. I liked the kofta more then the beef cubes but the combination of the two added a great texture. The beef cubes were good too not too chewy.
The bread was nicely warmed and didn't

Hard to find quality food at a good value in this area of Baltimore. We’ve been in the city a week, and have been back 5 times!! Hence all the pictures....they have the BEST food. Highly recommend the daily specials. My favourites are the falafel platter and chicken curry. Don’t skip the hummus either!! We typically don’t like the salads that come with these types of dishes, but this salad was excellent! They have generous portions at incredible value. Wonderful staff, comfortable, casual and clean.
