Three generations of Kottke family have been helping people celebrate life events with fine jewelry and engagement rings in Owatonna. Kottke Jewelers has a rich tradition in our community. Founded in 1919 by Carl Kottke & John Jurgenson, Kottke Jewelers has been a mainstay on the 100 Block of North Cedar since the very early days of Owatonna.
Carl Kottke bought out his partner in the late 20's and the store has remained solely in the Kottke Family ever since. In the early days of the jewelry store, like so many stores of their day, Kottke Jewelers was involved in everything from fine jewelry, watches, clocks, china, crystal and silverware, to fountain pens, wire-rimmed eye glasses, and even the repair of electric shavers.

I went in to buy myself a gift of gratitude for working through a situation in life that offered me the opportunity to grow. I wanted diamond stud earring to always wear and remember. At Kottke Jewelers you are always warmly greeted upon entering the store. The staff take time to answer questions and help you find the jewelry or in the case of our last visit, a replacement watchband to match your lifestyle. We are fortunate to have this long time local business in Owatonna in a world where large chain stores and online ordering are the norm. Being able to try on the jewelry and talk things over with store personnel is invaluable!

I have to take a minute to brag on Kottke Jewelers! My husband and I talked about making changes to my ring for YEARS and we finally did it! I worked with Lauren and she did a fabulous job showing me renders of… styles I liked. We kept the center stone of my original ring! I absolutely adore how it turned out! (I loved my original ring as well!) My new one has a slight vintage look with the side detailing if you zoom in! So dainty and beautiful! Shop small, support local businesses, and go to Kottke’s!
