Our family has always preferred a healthier, higher fiber bread. After two decades of casually bringing homemade buns to food-focused events, we developed a delicious bread full of minimally processed grains.

Old Mission Bakery was born of necessity. We started out as a cottage industry on old orchard land in the heart of the Old Mission Peninsula in 2009 as a result of the 2008 market crash. What began as a way to keep our family afloat financially, quickly morphed into our passion.
Naturally filtered well water, freshly milled grains and building relationships with local food producers while working with our family became the foundation for our thriving Northern Michigan bakery.Fun fact: all of our children gave up a year of college to help us get started back in the day. That first decade flew by fast!
