Dr. Szmigiel grew up partly in Poland, moved to Africa before her parents finally settled down in Canada. These experiences have taught Dr. Szmigiel discipline, perseverance, empathy towards people and a strong desire to tackle new opportunities. As a dentist my core belief is that our community deserves a compassionate healthcare experience.

Update: Nearly a year later, still awesome! Sometimes, a patient's experience changes as time goes on but not with this practice - it is consistently excellent. These guys are always on top of their game. They are absolutely fabulous. Original review below.
So to all those who have any trepidation regarding dentistry - GO HERE. They take amazing care of you and constantly check in. My first visit was very impressive. Everyone is so friendly. Laelle my hygienist was patient and explained the new patient prep, and did a thorough cleaning. Next a procedure by Dr Roberts...she is AMAZING. In all the years I have been going to a Dentist I have never had a more relaxing or comfortable experience.

Highly recommend this practice! I Had my first appointment here today and was thoroughly impressed with Holly’s kindness, patience and knowledge. She went above and beyond to put me at ease and explain options. Dr. Szmigiel was extremely professional yet personable. I was very thankful for Erin getting me in so quickly. Wonderful atmosphere and experience all around. I will definitely be switching my family over!

I had a root canal, and temporary cap done here today. I have had the best experience here from the front desk receptionist, to the billing department, the doctor, and the dental assistant. They were all so wonderful. I not only got great service but these ladies have the best, and most fun personalities of any doctor or dentist office I have ever been to. They really care about their patients here. The doctor even called me to see how I was doing, later on in the day. Thank you so much ladies, you are all awesome!!

Wonderful office and wonderful staff! I have some fear of going to the dentist and knew it was way past time to go. I had to have some work done including the removal of my wisdom teeth. I was in no pain and was very comfortable throughout the entire visit. The extraction was yesterday and I am very comfortable today with very little discomfort and minimal swelling! My care and comfort was definitely the priority of the entire office. Everyone is very warm, welcoming, non-judgmental and caring. I am very comfortable with returning to the office and am now feeling at ease about having to go to the

I am so happy to have found Gentle Touch Family Dentistry. I had a procedure today and am blown away by the experience. This is the first time I have felt comfortable and calm from when I walked in until I walked out. The receptionists were so welcoming and kind. The dental technologist was so calming and friendly! The dentist was great. And she has some mad skills! She did a super job, you can not even tell where she repaired a broken front tooth. Everyone was so good to me and for once I was not nervous. I can not say enough about the great experience I had. They have me as a patient. I recommend

I found myself at Gentle Touch Family Dentistry after dealing with several issues with a crown at another office. Gentle touch saw me the same day and everyone was absolutely wonderful! I went back about a week later for a check and again the care that Dr. Szmigiel and staff provided was incredible. I am one happy patient and have already set up an appointment to become a permanent patient at this office. I absolutely feel confident in the care they provide and my original issue is all taken care of. Simply the best!

Such a professional group of people! I’m so happy that Plattsburgh has an office like this available. They’ve worked fabulously for my whole family. Dr. Szmigiel, Kerri, and Holly have all made each one of my visits special. Every employee has! They all have a smile and are impressively knowledgeable. This is the only office I have been to that has… fully understood and properly treated me, as I have anxiety. If you have anxiety or even general nerves, this is where you belong! I also love the fact their waiting room has lemon san pellegrinos. Keep it up, guys! :)) <3
