Services
At Day Eye Center, we believe in figuring out the problem entirely before arriving at a solution. With this goal in mind, we conduct a primary eye examination and a contact lens examination. During the subsequent Contact Lens examination, there are numerous factors that are to be taken into consideration.
New technologies have brought us closer in lens power that is virtually unlimited. With spectacle lenses, there is a wide range of features that can help your vision better. However, not all features are right for all of the patients. This is why at Day Eye Center, we discuss with you each of these features so when you visit our office you will have some ideas of what features might work best for you.
Eyes are the windows to the soul. More than our clothes, haircut, shoes when we communicate, it is our eyes that talk the most. Frame styles matter. It only stands to reason that your glasses are the immediate accessory that everyone notices. Today, many people view their glasses as part of their jewelry and their accessories.
Primary Eye Care includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination. This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort. Examination, treatment and prevention of eye diseases are provided.

It is recommends that everyone should have a regular, comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on one's vision needs, family history, medical condition or physician recommendation. Many major eye diseases will have no symptoms the patient will notice.
Dry Eye Syndrome occurs when the normal flow of tears over the eyes is interrupted, or the tear film is abnormal. In many cases, dry eye syndrome is a life long problem. You can relieve the symptoms, but not cure the original cause. Artificial tear lubricants or in some cases blocking the tear ducts will concentrate the limited tears that are available.

Dr Day is a great optometrist! He even referred me to the ophthalmologist who did my trifocal lens replacement surgery (souped-up cataract surgery). For me the healing time was very quick and I came out of the procedure already able to see. Now, three months after surgery, I see better than I can remember ever seeing before (my vision is now 20/20). Before surgery my eyes were so bad (about -11) that I was not a candidate for anything but the trifocal lens replacement but I saw it as an investment in my future health as I was getting worried about night driving. So glad I did it!

The Staff and Doctor are great. Got glasses while I waited. They have a sincere care not only for your eye health, but also your entire well being. It's worth the drive from Gadsden. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Jim Day is a consummate professional. His family has been in Optometry for 3 generations and they carry on an impeccable reputation. Dr. Day keeps up to date with the latest news in optometry, has a deep commitment to our community and for nearly 35 years has provided us with personal and caring service. His friendly and homey clinic puts you to ease immediately as you enter the waiting room. The staff is always ready to help and accommodate (sic!) your needs. I have been using Dr. Day for 30 years and wouldn't think of ever using anybody else's optometry services.

Dr. Day is a 3rd generation optometrist with not only years of experience and skill, but is also active and enthusiastic in research and cutting edge studies that have optimistic advancements for the pathologies of the eye, and the other organs involved in sight. As a physician, I can whole-heartedly recommend him for your ongoing care of all of your vision needs. Moreover, if there is a condition where you need more extensive care, he is well regarded in the tertiary centers and his referrals are given expert care.

I was so offended by the way I was treated here. The staff constantly talked down to me even though they could see my date of birth on my chart and knew I was not a child. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to add in a contacts exam to my glasses exam and I asked if it would be covered by insurance. She said yes but then later charged me full price for it.

The doctor asked me if I cleaned my contacts often and I answered honestly that I did and he proceeded to look under my eyelid (which was very painful) and told me I had a "rash" on my eyelid and that I needed to start wearing
