Prior to choosing Penwell Gabel’s Olathe location we spent a considerable amount of time researching our options based on other yelp reviews, quality of the facility & location. We feel so fortunate that we made the right choice.
During our initial meeting with Michael B he masterfully guided us through the key parts of the process & did so with a very caring & easy to understand approach.
Michael was also very accessible to help with any of our follow up questions & to offer suggestions in a very supportive & never a pushy or pressuring way.

They did well with everything except the funeral procession. Only 6 cars in line... kept going through stale green lights... loosing people. Then 5 mph over posted limit.
Plus I called the funeral home in route, and they wouldn't call the driver. Just made excuses.
I guess during covid... people are just dying to get into any funeral home. Even this one

We recently lost our Mother and as for children my Mother only had my brother (Scott) and myself. To say the least neither of us were prepared for the passing of our Mother, even though she was 77, and we also never really talked seriously with our Mother about her wishes. All we really knew is that she wanted to have a traditional Catholic funeral and Mass. I keep saying that perhaps if there were a sister in the mix things would have been different because males are just not good with those conversations in my experience. During the most difficult time of your life, its important that the funeral home you choose is easy to do business with. Penwell Gabel is that and more. Mike was even keeled, calm, gracious, and accommodating. Everything was explained in detail and they are willing to give assistance after the funeral is over. I can't stress enough how much I appreciated their kindness and empathy. I highly recommend this funeral for when unfortunately you will need their services.

My family had a very positive experience when working with Penwell-Gabel to arrange for my Dad's cremation. The personnel who transported my Dad from our home were extremely compassionate, and patiently explained everything they would be doing. The experience my family had with Penwell-Gabel was efficient, kind, and comforting. Chris was so gracious when we met with him and knocked out details. He listened to our requests with respect and educated us on what needed to be done. Everyone we worked with, there, from the Adminstrative assistant to the Hospice volunteer took the time to talk with us and let us know they were there to help. Robin did an amazing job on my Mom's hair and makeup - I was so pleasantly surprised. My mom looked beautiful. Also, Steve did a great job as a greeter/host for the visitation we held there.
