For more than a century, the Gray family has enjoyed a strong reputation in the Commonwealth of Virginia and throughout the Southeast for its high quality lumber operation and extensive timberland holdings.
In 1992, in an effort to diversify its investments, the family elected to exchange a large portion of its timberland for commercial real estate and form an in-house management team, the predecessor to today's GrayCo, to oversee the reinvestment process and provide ongoing asset management.

With our senior executives averaging over 20 years of industry experience, GrayCo's management team possesses extensive apartment investment and management experience as well as expertise in timberland management and land development.

The Company seeks to generate strong risk-adjusted investment returns primarily through the acquisition, development and management of apartment properties throughout the major markets of the Southeast. Our target investments are high-end apartment properties with comprehensive amenity packages and spacious units having up to date floor plans and interior features providing our residents with an excellent residential experience.
