Services
Dr. Kathryn Buss is a well-trained, skilled and very pleasant individual. She attended the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and practiced in Denver, CO, for several years. Dr. Buss has a husband, two little boys and a golden retriever. Portland, Maine could not be a better fit for all of them.
We encourage regular dental check-ups as part of complete dental care. These appointments with our experienced dental hygienist include dental cleanings, diagnostic x-rays when necessary, oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, examination for tooth decay, and an examination of existing restorations.
We are pleased to tell you we are a mercury-free dental office that offers only tooth-colored composite fillings. This better alternative is more attractive than the amalgam counterpart, it looks natural in your mouth, and it requires less removal of healthy tooth structure. These composite fillings are used to treat tooth decay, chipped teeth, broken teeth, and for closing spaces.
A tooth-colored composite resin called bonding can be used as an inexpensive but temporary solution for repairing chips, cracks, misalignment, and discolorations. Over time bonding may stain, wear away, or need to be repaired. Porcelain veneers are a more permanent solution than bonding. They are thin shields of porcelain that cover the front of your teeth.
