I am fortunate to have known Elena for 15+ years now- since I was a shy high schooler being fitted for (at the time) cutting edge FM hearing aids. Since then, technology has evolved dramatically, and Elena has been there every step of the way to help me take advantage of it. Most recently, she guided me through a cochlear implant procedure that has truly been life changing.
A hearing evaluation is an in-depth assessment of an individuals hearing. It is used to determine the nature and degree of hearing loss and the best treatment and options. Hearing loss is prevalent in all populations, from pediatric to older adults and there can be many causes. Approximately 31.5 million people report a hearing difficulty; that is around 10% of the U.S. population!
An earmold is a piece of plastic, acrylic or other soft material shaped to fit the ear canal, and/or the outer ear surrounding the ear canal. Earmolds come in many different sizes and colors. Earmolds are made by inserting silicone material into the ear canal and outer ear (concha) for approximately 5 minutes.
The information we obtain from the screening influences which hearing devices we fit and how we fit them. Processing speed, the amount of compression, and other factors that alter the signal become important considerations, especially for our patients with low working memory capacity.
Additionally, when there is a degree of cognitive impairment present, we need to develop aural rehabilitation strategies for the patient and provide support that goes beyond fitting hearing devices.In addition to cognition, our treatment recommendations are based on the type and severity of hearing loss, ear anatomy, lifestyle and family support.

A cochlear implant (CI) is a surgically implanted electronic device that provides a sense of sound to a person who is profoundly deaf or hard of hearing in both ears. Limited benefit from amplification defined by preoperative test scores of 50% sentence recognition in the ear to be implanted and 60% in the opposite ear or binaurally.

A friend of mine recommended this place for piercing ears and we took our 18 month old to get her ears pierced by Dr. Elena Schepis and Angela were awesome. Office is super clean and inviting. Angela made sure I am comfortable and answered all of my questions from time of making the appointment to the day of the piercing. We don't think our daughter felt a thing. I would highly recommend Hearing Healthcare professionals for ear piercing appointments.

I recently brought my 6-year-old daughter in to have her ears pierced. What an AMAZING experience. The office is impeccably clean (and beautifully decorated!) The woman at the front desk was a delight to deal with and very knowledgeable. When it came time to have her ears pierced the doctor was wonderful. She took the time to make sure everything was perfect and most importantly that my daughter felt ready to go. Very impressed - highly recommended!!

I've had Resound hearing aids for eight years now. These were introduced to me by Dr. Shepis, so when I became curious about what new technology there might be in 2020, I went back to her for more info.
Well the answer to my curiosity was that yes, indeed there has been many improvements to hearing aid design. My visit resulted in me purchasing some great Phonak rechargable and bluetooth enabled hearing aids. These are really amazing and noticeably better than my old instruments.
ElenaShepis has always been helpful, informed and very professional.
I highly recommend her for anyone who is serious

I took my daughter (11 months at the time) to have her ears pierced here and Elena was wonderful! My daughter didn't want to cooperate but Elena was very patient and understanding. She took the time to explain everything she was doing, talk about aftercare, and answer any questions I had. I would recommend her to anyone, especially those with small children.

My wife Mary has been in need of a Hearing Aide for many years. We have gone to other Hearing Centers and have had some negative experiences that resulted in poor fitting devices and in one case an additional injury to her ear that made her reluctant to continue on her quest to hear normally again.
We met Dr. Schepis Tzeng and our lives changed. Elena was professional and caring and so understanding of her needs. I took my daughter to get her ears pierced by Dr. Elena a few weeks ago. She was extremely kind, patient and gentle as my daughter was a bit nervous. After 3 weeks one of the earrings fell out when we were trying to clean it. I emailed Dr. Elena on a Sunday night hoping that she would get back to me on Monday morning. She actually emailed me back right away that night and took my daughter in first thing Monday morning. She pierced the ear for us again and sent us on our way. She really went above and beyond for us and we greatly appreciate it.

Elena is amazing. Able to accomplish an uneventful ear evaluation, cerumen removal and custom ear plugs in one uneventful visit. She was so calm and compassionate with a child who has a potential to take out an army of children’s doctors and support staff!
