I’m giving this place only 1 star. Simply because I think it was unfair that my brother was reprimanded in front of employees/customers for having a mask in his hand after an employee gave him the mask in the first place. Prior to this I use to shop every year to purchase accessories/costumes but that experience left a poor taste In my mouth. If you want to lock up customers items because you’re terrified of people stealing, fine. However, you should train your employees what the procedures are and handle the situation that doesn’t make an innocent customer feel like a complete thief. My

I stopped in too get some input on a couple of parasols I have. I can't recall the owner's name. But she was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The inventory in the store was incredible. You can tell this is a labor of love. If I ever dress up for Halloween or have a costume party to attend. This is definitely the place I would go to.

I'm an avid cosplayer and I LOVE Echoes of Time. When you first walk into the room, it will look overwhelming, but fear not because the staff is helpful and know their stock well. I have been going here for years and they always have the high quality wigs that I need. They are a one-of-a-kind business here, and I feel lucky to have them so that I may check out products in person and skip the hassle of buying and returning online (not to mention that disappointment.) They are almost guaranteed to have what your looking for, from keyblades to intimates to spookies and everything in between.

Went there yesterday with my daughter first thing is I was surprised to see their prices have really increased use to love going there for their great prices the clearance rack was a hot mess things just thrown together and basically on the clearance rack was things nobody wanted even at a disc prices anything on the clearance worth purchasing was a crazy price might as well by full price. Then the worse was yet to come I went to check out the cashier asked me if I wanted to get the rewards card not one time did she say it was a credit card she kept introducing it as a regular awards card it wasn

I went in search of a costume for a Fezziwig party, and they knew exactly what I was talking about (unlike another store that had to google images). After much searching, I did not find one to fit exactly (but I'll probably return because they did have some suggestions for making it work)! It was my first time in the shop and it will not be my last!

The selection is great, and the store is a lot bigger than I expected - but as with several of the other reviews, I noticed a lot of things that seemed overpriced for a resale/rental shop. The number one reason for my poor review is the criminalization before you even walk in the door, which then proceeds to get worse as you walk through the hall. Demanding patrons put their bags in a locker is too much for me. I came with someone who wanted to browse, or I would have simply turned around and left. I wore a pocketless-dress, so I had no place to store my phone or wallet while shopping. The store

Never skip it. After looking at the reviews, I'm a little shocked. First off, I understand about the whole locker situation. It kind of shocked me in the beginning, but once I got in I can totally see why. There is a lot of things. It's H U G E. There are a ton of things and the ladies apologized and let me know that a few bad apples were the cause of the whole thing. I find that awful but now I get it. I actually enjoyed not having my purse after awhile cause I kept carrying too much stuff. I probably would've set it down and forgot about it.

This was the first time my girlfriend and I visited the store which by the way was a referral from a friend of ours.
The owner Kathy was gracious and very helpful and very patient with my girlfriend and I as we picked costumes for a birthday party for this weekend.
The other two girls, I believe Kathy's daughters, were also very helpful and engaging with helping us make our final selections.
It is great to see a family-owned business where they care about their clients and I look forward to returning again in the near future.

The store itself is amazing its their policies & staff that make you think twice. They have these strange lockers where they yell at you to place your purse before entering. What the hell? Which of you ladies of Hampton Rhodes were going into the make believe store and stuffing costumes into your 6 by 4 inch coach bags? The paranoia did not stop there! I choose a large queen of england style costume which included a cloth crown draping in a zip lock plastic bag. Im shown to a dressing room which is an area with a curtain that did not close you off 100%.

Awesome place! It was recommended to us by family to help us find masquerade masks. They did have a large assortment more than what 1 Party City location we visited earlier had. No disrespect to Party City they still rock but Echoes in Time is a totally different store and shouldn't be compared to anyone. Large inside and selections beyond my imagination. Easy to find. They had what I was looking for so a "win-win" 2 thumbs up to the store associates they were very friendly and extremely helpful.

From a plethora of costumes to a vintage collection organized by waist measurement (because vintage sizes are impossible to use with contemporary standards) to a selection of retro dresses to die for (I wear my Universal Monster dress at least once a week), this shop has something for everyone.
On the accessory front, they range from true vintage rhinestone pieces to large, plastic costume jewelry, with a large selection of quirky sunglasses.

Don't let the small frontage fool you, this place is HUGE. As you enter bags and purses need to be locked in a small locker. I didn't mind that at all, I didn't have to carry it around. I'm sure the reason is to prevent theft, I get that.
There are rows and rows of vintage and costume clothing. Some are for purchase and some are for rent. What blew me away were all the accessories. I went in for one accessory and ended up purchasing five. The staff was extremely helpful in adding to my purchase.
