With his wife Nancy's blessing, Dan Sr. put-up everything they owned to start the business, and his family members supported him by signing a $40,000 note. At first, it was a simple men's clothing store, with no suits or sport coats on the walls. Dan remembers that you could almost "hear an echo" throughout the store.

Dan has worked with his father for over 25 years. He specializes in custom tailored clothing, and has a vast knowledge of the men's apparel landscape. He has also been very involved in the community. He has been a team captain for the JT Walk to Defeat ALS since 2009, and an active member of the Virginia Beach Noblemen and Neptune Festival.
Michael obtained his Bachelor's degree at Virginia Wesleyan College in Interdivisional Social Science and Business. He has lived in the Virginia Beach area most of his life. He started his career in retail while still in school, and has since joined the Dan Ryan's team. Michael prides himself in staying up-to-date with the most current fashions.
