I picked up my cooking skills as a child in New York. While growing up, my father was a butcher that also managed a few of the Key Food Stores. I guess in a way, food has always been a key part of my life; even before I realized what it could do for my future. Every few days, we would go food shopping as a family and make meals together.
I just liked having fun in the kitchen with all of my loved ones, and of course, it made me happy to reap the benefits of my hard work afterward. When I moved to Virginia with my husband, our neighbors had cattle and grew vegetables. They would occasionally bring their harvest over and I'd cook and host dinner parties.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the end result of our event with ZiL Catering. As with the last reviewer, we had some timing issues and they were still setting up while our guests arrived. But we had agreed to provide the drinks and I had nuts set out. So everyone just mingled while they were putting together the finishing touches.
The food was absolutely spectacular. The presentation was phenomenal. I was surprised to read in the last review about the poor attitude. I had just the opposite. My 12yo son loves to cook and while he was helping they even gave him a ZiL Catering badge

Vendor came highly recommended and I had attended another event that they catered where I was able to taste the appetizers and they were good. Based on that encounter I hired the company to cater appetizers for a card party. I was disappointed to say the least. They arrived late and was unprepared. They were still setting up after guest had started to arrive. Food was served cold, no eating utensils, not enough garbage bags and bad attitude. I guess we can't all be on all the time?!?! The food display, however, was nice.
