Tokyo Japanese Restaurant

Love this place! I've only ever ordered food to go, but it's always been perfect and super fast. Love stopping here if I'm on a tight schedule because I know I'll be able to get in and out quickly. Everyone is very friendly and kind.
Update - every now and then the avocado sushi I get is made with rotten mushy brown avocado. Today I tossed an entire roll because of this. Quality should be better.

The restaurant was okay but don't order a salad as it just a chunk of a head of lettuce with a sauce that would be very unfamiliar to most and not in a good way... Also one of the staff who had a mask on later removed it to speak over the counter to another employee who was working with the sushi and had it exposed

The House soup is absolutely AMAZING! I had a bad cold and the house soup made me feel soo much better. Flavor is wonderful and veggies are fresh! 💛💜

Everything I've had on they're menu has been very impressive. Servers are cool and fun. Top notch Japanese food! Would recommend! 👌

Went there with some friends a few weeks ago while visiting Rice Lake and all of us were very pleasantly surprised! Great sushi and sashimi, especially for a small town in northern Wisconsin. Highly recommend it!

I wanted to give this place 3 stars but the waitress messed that up.. The restaurant is nice and clean.. The food this time around was okay. Nothing special. I've been here several of times only because its close to home. A lot of my friends come here and like the sushi. I order #17 with no spicy tuna and Shrimp tempora roll with cucumber, and avocado. Now when the food came out there was spicy mayo on my tempora shrimp roll. I told the waitress that I didn't want the spicy mayo and would like a new roll. The waitress said I should of told her about not wanting the sauce and was super

My first time at this place was ok so I didn't go back for 2 years. Recently tried it again and it was great. Service, food and friendliness was very good. Prices are a little bit high for the area, but acceptable. The presentation is stellar but I'd prefer less lights on my plate. I prefer raw sushi without cream cheese. There were many options available.

They do outstanding with Covid precautions and are quick for take out. The vegetable sushi roll and edamame were good. The noodle dishes didn't have as much flavor sadly. Overall, it's a good spot for quick food in a small town.

Wonderful restaurant great service. I love this place and everyone I know who likes seafood loves it too. The workers are friendly and kind. They always accommodate your needs. The food can be pricey but it's worth every penny . Great atmosphere. I honestly have nothing bad to say about them!

Best sushi we have ever had!!! My husband gets the white tuna, regular tuna and salmon sushi and a Boston roll. I got the dragon roll. It was all outstandingly amazing!! I can't say enough about it. The wait staff is fast and friendly and the place is so clean.

Very good restaurant. I had the Chicken Udon soup with a spicy tuna roll. The soup would filled me up alone. Both were very tasty. Was not expecting a Japanese restaurant this good in such a small town.

My daughter and I had a wonderful meal at this excellent sushi place in Rice Lake. Vivian was just the sweetest waitress who had only been in the area for one week but did a great job! I had the Sweetheart Roll and the Wisconsin Roll and they were perfect! Nice and clean with good ambiance... we highly recommend it.

I mean they have sushi you will order it and it will eventually come. If you are looking for a 4 star dining experience in regards to time of dining by not quality of food this this is your place. Service was very slow but the food was really good.

Pondering dinner options while in Rice Lake for business I was initially thrilled by the prospect of a Japanese restaurant. 'Tokyo' seemed an oasis from the Hardee's and joint simply advertising "MEATBALLS" today and "LIVER AND ONIONS" yesterday.

I rang 'Tokyo', noting the unimaginative name but respecting the Rice Lake Japanese food monopoly that allowed it. I ordered a salmon bento box with an egg roll on the side and was merrily on my way.

I absolutely love this restaurant!!! I have been regularly coming to Tokyo for well over a year now and have never been disappointed. The employees are very helpful and the food is delicious.

I am updating my review since we did go back to enjoy another delicious sushi lunch. The sushi was good. Good for a small town and on par with some sushi special nights in the Milwaukee area which is why I am increasing my stars.

We ordered from the sushi lunch menu again. My BF got 3 rolls (boston, California and something with tempura) and I did 2 rolls (spicy tuna and Alaska) in addition to a specialty roll (crazy tuna) to try some more items for comparison. Good japanese restaurant for a small town. They provide a good variety of well-made popular rolls. Their soups came luke warm which was a big let down. On the other hand, athough I'm not a huge fan of typical hibachi sauces, I actually liked theirs. It was more of a sriracha mayo-type sauce rather than a ginger-based sauce. Pro-Tip: Their hibachi sauce pairs really well with their fried calamaris!

Best place ever, yummy. 10/10 would eat again. Great service. Free WiFi. Good food. Comfortable aura. Favorite place to go out to eat, no hassle. I want a t-shirt from there. Try the hibachi bento boxes.

Maybe I am just used to Benihana's hibachi but this was absolutely gross. Everything from the broth to the sauces and the salad! I was very disappointed. The staff was friendly though and the decor was nice.

Solid Japanese restaurant. We did not order any of the sushi - inexpensive fish far from the source is probably inexpensive for a reason - but thoroughly enjoyed all the plates we ordered. The chicken katsu, gyoza, vege tempura, and udon noodles were all solid.

Service was top notch too.

Went tonight for dinner with my wife. The waitress was very nice, quick and made a lot of stops at our table.

The food was delicious, I had the chicken and steak hibachi dinner. Steak was actually amazing, cooked perfectly and the chicken was better than average. All in all, we will return!

During a business trip in the area, I stopped by Tokyo Japanese Restaurant for carryout. The restaurant offers ample seating with a modern Japanese vibe. They also offer free wifi!

I didn't really expect much since it's located in such a small town, but there was nothing but raved reviews. I ordered a spicy salmon hand roll and a lobster tempura maki (deep fried lobster, cucumber, avocado, and mango). The spicy salmon hand roll was really confusing. Since relocating after spending 16yrs in Las Vegas it was GREAT to find a Sushi Bar! Quality, Service, Atmosphere, and Food Plating are Spot On! We have dined in several sushi bars over the years and Tokyo gets two thumbs up!
