This is our non-profit group, named the "People of the Rainbow, " which promotes community service. Instructors and advanced students take part in our professional dance line, which features the best talent in Polynesian dance in the Central Valley. This event has earned the title of the oldest ongoing Tahitian dance competition outside of Tahiti, held annually without fail, and remains the only event that has a beginner category.

Our goal is to ensure that participants from all around have the chance to build self-esteem and train for the sake of improving their basic skills, whether it is by competing in individual solos or through group performances.
Services
All performances come with an MC to narrate and explain the different dances. Each show can come with musicians or recorded music as you prefer. The show generally includes implement Hula (dances with instruments: Ipu-hollow gourd, Pu Ili-split bamboo, UliUli-feather gourd) and group dances that tell stories or legends of Polynesia.
Rebecca Ka'awela Manandic was born and raised on the island of Oahu. After having moved to the Merced area in 1974, she began a small Polynesian dance troupe, Ke Anuenue (Hawaiian: The Rainbow), which was the first such group in the Central Valley. I have been involved with Aunty Becky and the Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete since its inception in 1979.
The Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete is the longest existing, annually held, Tahitian dance and cultural festival outside of French Polynesia and we are celebrating our 41st anniversary. Come to the event to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of Tahiti. Our event features a dance competition with people entering from all ranges and performing to live drums.
In recent years, we have used the event booklet published for the festival to feature work from writers, artists, photographers, and poets, and we invite anyone interested in Polynesia to submit work. Being published in this forum looks good on a university, grant, or fellowship application, and on query letters to other publishers.
