We brought our little tripod APBT in with a mysterious swollen eye. He had to stay the night to have tests done and I was worried sick. The staff was caring, concerned, and very considerate. They went out of their way to keep me informed and involved every step of the way. They are also Fear Free Certified, which is a really big deal. We are very grateful for the Rutland Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Center!

My sister brought her dog to Rutland Veterinary Clinic during an emergency last weekend. The dog had HGE and was unable to tolerate food/water. The vet prescribed pills to be taken by mouth(the dog was too sick to take pills) and gave subcutaneous fluids. My sister requested IV fluids and was told the clinic does not provide that service. My sister’s dog died that night. Going to Rutland Veterinary Clinic was a complete waste of time and money. The license should be revoked by the state of VT.

Better to take your dog in the yard and shoot him than to come here for an emergency - more humane

This is a great clinic. The staff is so caring and the medical team is wonderful. My Siamese kitty was in a lot of pain and they got him right in even though we hadn't been seen there before. They took excellent care of him for the two days he had stay. I was encouraged to call to get updates on how he was doing.

*TRIGGER WARNING* - graphic dog injury photos.
Almost 3 weeks ago our dog Calvin was in a horrible dog fight. Because of his other health conditions, his skin is very weak and prone to injury. The photos speak for themselves. I thought we were going to have to do what every animal owner dreads.
It's no exaggeration when I say that the Rutland Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Center, saved his life. Dr. Rob Macpherson performed the surgery that required hundreds of stitches. He and his team went above and beyond to save Calvin's life - and I'm happy to report that Calvin is doing amazingly well.

Our older dog had TPLO/meniscus tear surgery on her left leg August 20, 2020. 2 1/2 months later she’s up and running🤗. Dr. McPherson did the procedure. Because of COVID we never got to meet him face to face. The staff that gave us curbside attention were attentive, informative, and very helpful. Any issues or questions we had about her recovery, we would send emails, videos, photos. A response was quick and reassuring. The ride to Rutland (over an hour) was more than worth it for our positive experience.

My cat Frankie was hit by a car at 10 pm. As my son was driving to the clinic, Frankie passed. The staff met my son outside and brought Frankie in. They kept Frankie until the next day. They had him placed and wrapped so peacefully. Maureen brought him out to my car and was full of sympathy for my loss. I cannot express enough gratitude to this wonderful clinic. Thank you all so much for your extreme kindness and compassion during this sad time for us

I had dogs for 50 years and visited many vets in many sates. but I have been using this place for over 15 yearsm so I know it well and its very expensive. I have noticed they over charge for most things compared to the other vets. ie: my dogs on Lasix, I ran out and his heart doctors pills didnt arrive in the mail. I asked for a few days worth… but got a full month at double the price my heart doctor charges. when I called she couldnt tell why it was so much i thought there was an error and was told the owner would call me back. he never did. the month before that my dog was having issues
