5280 High School creates students who are thinkers, problem solvers, collaborators, and innovators. 5280 is founded on the principle that success today requires more than just academic, factual knowledge. Professionals today encounter challenges that often require out-of-the-box solutions, and the ability to dynamically engage with the world and others around them.
We foster these skills through project based learning, or PBL. PBL is an approach which transforms education from "teachers telling" to "students doing." Through project based learning, students learn both the academic skills they need to thrive in college, and the soft skills that are so important in professional settings today.

Candidates should be open to a dynamic, collaborative, teacher-driven school where teachers have the freedom to design their curriculum, innovate, and make decisions to best serve their students.
We take seriously our role in educating students, and believe school can be much more than academics. Coupled with our bold and authentic teaching style, we pioneer a wellness philosophy that develops minds, hearts, bodies and souls. We want our students to be not just brilliant, but balanced; work not just on meaningful projects, but also have a meaningful life.
The Summit Program supports the educational needs of teenagers in recovery from addiction, eating disorders, and other similar conditions. It is often scary and overwhelming for a teen to start a treatment program or begin their journey of recovery. However, getting sober or getting to a healthy weight is only the beginning of building a foundation for a lifetime of recovery.
