I grew up in the Washington, DC area and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1996. In 2001, I received a DDS degree from Columbia University in New York City and joined the US Navy. I completed a General Practice Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and served in Atsugi, Japan and Washington Navy Yard.
After fulfilling my military commitment I accepted a position as a general dentist in a group practice in Southern Maryland. As a Washington, DC area native I was excited to have the opportunity to open Walsh Dental Care in Lorton, VA in the fall of 2009. My goal is to provide exceptional dental care to people of all ages in a professional, caring and fun environment.

Services
At Walsh Dental Care we provide comprehensive dental services for the entire family. We offer preventative, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry to adults and children. Our office offers Nitrous Oxide ("laughing gas") for patients with anxiety associated with dental visits. It causes a calming effect when inhaled, keeping the patient relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.
Do you suffer from poor fitting or loose dentures? Are you unhappy with painful or unsightly teeth that prevent you from smiling or eating properly?. The process begins with placing 4 to 6 implants in your mouth while you are asleep with the help of sedation. During the same visit, a natural looking, non-removable hybrid appliance is screwed onto the implants.
Invisalign(R) takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you.
Our office was designed around patient comfort, using state of the art dental technologies. Our patients benefit by experiencing shorter appointment times and being more involved in their treatment planning. Digital X-Rays - decreased level of radiation to the patient - elimination of chemicals used to process traditional X-Rays.

You couldn’t find a better Dentist than Dr. Walsh! For many of us, a trip to the dentist can be quite overwhelming. Everyone is always friendly and caring. The dental hygiene treatment is the best I've ever had! thorough in one word! I love how down-to-earth and yet professional Dr. Walsh is. I moved from the area three years ago, but I continue coming here for my dental treatments. I don't mind driving the extra miles. In all honesty, they're the best! And they're military friendly!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Walsh. I've been seeing Dr Walsh for many years and have never experienced such a kind caring dentist. She takes a true interest in you and your concerns. Absolutey fantastic staff! I was so nervous to go for my check up after two years of COVID and no regular 6 month cleanings, the hygienist was sweet and reassuring! Every single staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful, and professional. Dr. Walsh is the BEST, so encouraging and awesome. So glad I have this team to care for me!

Amazing office! The front desk staff is so welcoming and nice. The doctor, hygienist, and assistants listen to our concerns and are very good at explaining information. Very detailed oriented which I love. Also Dr Walsh has a great sense of humor, which makes the appointments less stressful and enjoyable.

This is the only dentist I've ever trusted in my life. She stays abreast of all new research, NEVER takes advantage and her office is meticulously clean, especially since COVID have I come to really appreciate this. This is a great place for kids. I love Dr. Walsh. I have severe anxiety and she is very patient with me and knows how to bring my anxiety down. She and her assistants have also been very genuine and help me keep at ease while I've had my root canal done. I would recommend anyone to her practice. Great dentist and wonderful and caring staff.

I love this place they are very friendly, you get greeted immediately once walking in. Not much of a wait time the times I have went. They always ask to make sure you aren't in pain or uncomfortable. They let you know what you're doing next. They offer payment plans if you need fillings etc. I definitely recommend it!

I love going into Dr. Walsh's office! Not many people can say that about going to the dentist. Before seeing her, I visited many dentists who lied and said I had a bunch of cavities and work needing to be done. I care A LOT about my teeth but didn't find these dentists to be honest. After x- rays, Dr. Walsh told me I didn't need any extensive work and that my teeth were in excellent shape despite just three cavities. She's extremely honest and straightforward. So happy I read so many positive reviews about Dr. Walsh from the local military wives group. I went to another DDS in Burke who said I needed 5 (!) crowns, at $1750 EACH. I thought that was crazy so I got a 2nd opinion from Dr. Walsh. After looking at x-rays and exam, she said I only needed 2 fillings- not 5 crowns. I had her do the work and she was very good, very thorough, and she and her staff were cognizant of my comfort and pain level the whole time! I really appreciated the way I was treated by every staff member and look forward to coming back here for any future dental care.
