Hygge is a state of mind experienced by yourself or shared with loved ones. It is a sense of coziness and peace; an appreciation of slowing down and living in the present with your piece of cake, or the book you're reading, or the breeze whispering in your hair, or the smiles shared between friends over a silly story.

Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatment. Anyone who has ever received cancer treatment should receive massage from an Oncology Trained Massage Therapist. It is beneficial whether you are in active treatment, recent recovery, or long term survivorship.
The lymphatic system is part of our immune system; it carries debris of various kinds. Excess proteins, bacteria, waste and toxins are carried to lymph nodes. The material is filtered and is either expelled from the body or re-introduced to the blood stream. The Lymphatic System consists of tissues and organs.
MLD is a light, skin stretching massage that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid in a desired direction. It should not be confused with a traditional massage you receive at a spa. MLD is very light and the target is not muscles. MLD Therapy for Lymphedema is applied to your unaffected areas first, making it possible for the fluid to move out of the affected area, or as we say, "decongest."
It is a combination of modalities such as Manual lymphatic draining, scar tissue massage, cupping, vibration techniques and more. It should be part of your Aftercare, ensuing receiving plastic surgery or reconstructive surgery. The world of Plastic Surgery Aftercare is very unregulated and you should be spending as much time finding a good aftercare provider and program as you do vetting and searching for the right plastic surgeon.

Nordic House Spa is the most comfortable spa I have ever experienced. Miechelle is meticulous in her approach to your needs -- particularly in her treatment for oncology patients. I highly recommend Nordic House for anyone but especially those dealing with cancer and chemotherapy.

Where is the 10 star button? Absolutely love Michelle! She has the softest “butterfly” hands & applies just the right amount of pressure. She’s so knowledgeable & her treatments truly help. I am blessed to have her help me on my health journey! It seems cliche to say but I really had relief and comfort with her specialty focused massage. I feel safe and comforted and appreciate her so much. In fact, I drive about an hour to get there, but feel it’s worth it! Please don’t hesitate to try her! - Diane

Michelle is kind, compationet and caring not to mention the many other positive traits she has. The massage room is peaceful and promotes relaxation. I have Fibromyalgia and RA and Michelle knows to apply the right amount of pressure just for me. I highly recommend a massage from Nordic House Spa, you won't regret it.

I always have great experiences at Nordic House Spa! Miechelle is an exceptional massage therapist. She cares deeply for her clients. As a cancer patient, I so appreciate that she wants to understand where a client is in the disease and treatment process. She takes her time; I never feel she is rushing to get to her next client. The facility is immaculate, warm and welcoming. The services are a fabulous value for the fee charged. I regard every visit as an investment in my health. I wish I could go every week. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, Nordic House Spa deserves 10 stars! I highly recommend it

I’m am currently in treatment for breast cancer. Part of my self-care is weight lifting. The combination of treatment and lifting has been exhausting. I had knots from stress and working out. I scheduled my massage by recommended of my therapist. She gave Nordic House rave reviews and I took the leap. Needless to say, I was beyond impressed. The massage suite is lovely and peaceful. Miechelle was so soothing and explained everything so thoroughly. I had a knot under my right shoulder blade. She explained that since that was my “compromised” quadrant because of the lymph node removal that
