We prepare our young women for jobs that may not currently exist, using technology that is still being invented, to solve problems that have yet to be discovered. We can do this all by creating authentic, meaningful, and relevant learning experiences rooted in our Catholic upbringing. My daughter is absolutely loving her new high school!
The closeness, camaraderie and school spirit is abundant across the classes, I would very much recommend this high school for your daughter! Truly a college prep program. The modular system encourages the girls to be proactive about interacting with teachers and other students. The strong faith-filled community is a great!

Incarnate Word High School was founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1881. The school had its beginning as a co-ed grade school located at the corner of Crosby and Willow St. In 1900, the Sisters moved to their new Motherhouse on grounds which they had purchased from Col. Brackenridge.
When you join the Incarnate Word High School family you become a Shamrock! Our Shamily represents a network of Shamrocks invested in the success and wellbeing of all IWHS students. Incarnate Word High School is fortunate to have dedicated instructors to educate the leaders of the future. Your daughter will have the opportunity to learn in smaller classrooms with instructors that are invested in your daughter's education.
International students have been a valued part of the Incarnate Word family for more than 20 years. Students from all over the world have found their home here in our empowering student community. Incarnate Word High School is proud to offer a variety of scholarships to highly qualified incoming students for their academic achievements and commitment to their future school community. We ask families to complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application through Hope for the Future so that our families are considered for Hope for the Future funds as well.
A Shamrock's journey begins with our strong foundation, faith-based curriculum and mission to cultivate strong, intelligent, independent, informed and devout women. As a college preparatory school, we focus on academic excellence and rigorous, competitive curriculum, including on-level, Pre-Advanced Placement and Advancement Placement courses.

I had to update this review after being graduated for 4 years now. In hindsight, this school means a lot to me. They push you hard on work that's extremely difficult until you succeed, they teach you how to time handle and maximize productivity through direct practice, the schedule was exactly like a college one, I learned to love the uniform because I stopped waking up early to find what to wear, the sisterhood wasn't a myth, they allow SO MANY school holidays and on Halloween you're able to dress on your costume and compete in a competition as well as find out who won the door decorating contest
