It all started with the lofty goal of making the best clothing for the guys with the world's most demanding job: American combat troops. We decided from the start that we did not want to be told how to make our gear, what fabric or designs to use, or which suppliers we had to buy from. We simply wanted to design for them - the door-kickers, soldiers, operators, pipe-hitters - using the best materials available anywhere.
Everything we built had to have a purpose. When U.S. troops were deployed in the global war on terror, the clothing systems they had did not perform. They were heavy, stiff and didn't breathe. They definitely weren't cut for the modern, athletic warrior. OTTE Gear is designed for folks going light, fast and hard.

We are constantly inspired to create new apparel and accessories that are innovative, durable and built for your lifestyle. This Fall we have launched 3 new everyday pants and 2 new insulated jackets that were designed with lo-vis intentions but tons of tactical features. Whether it's cold, wet, rainy or dry, one thing is constant: our jackets are built for the toughest tactical, mountaineering or hunting environments. Our insulated jackets use Primaloft Gold insulation and feature unique performance-based features. We use eVent fabric, a super breathable membrane, for our hardshell and durable stretch-woven Tweave for our softshell DK.

About a year ago, our ever-active R&D team recognized a dire need for more tactical nylon designed for the everyday 2A Citizen. We zeroed in on plate carriers, specifically ones that are well-priced and come complete and ready-to-use out of the box.

The critical difference between eVent's technology and traditional waterproof/breathable fabrics is the billions of microscopic pores built in to the proprietary membrane that work instantly to vent water vapor (sweat) that builds up inside your apparel.
