Students who enroll at Sky Islands join an academic community and are expected to take part in that community respectfully and apply themselves responsibly to academic work. Students should be prepared to be physically active in our field work projects and intellectually challenged in our classrooms.
All Sky Islands' students take a demanding sequence of core classes in math, science, social studies, and language arts. Electives are open to all students in grades 10-12. Upper division classes in lab sciences and honors programs are available based on eligibility to those students who meet or exceed the academic and behavioral pre-requisites.

Blue Sky Caf
Report
Sky Islands' students take part in the ongoing establishment and maintenance of our site-based farms and preparing lunches as part of the school's Blue Sky Caf. This is an urban farm-to-kitchen program to provide students with experience in both growing and preparing food.
Student harvests from our on-site farms, as well as supplementary produce in partnership with Pivot Produce, help to create the healthy lunches for themselves and everyone in the school community. In the Urban Horticulture class, which is part of this program, students work with David Rollins to propagate seedlings in the greenhouse, select and plant seasonal vegetables to grow, install irrigation, and manage the farm.

Student Culture
Report
In this space, read the voices of our students as they reflect on their personal experiences, school activities, and social life at Sky Islands. They provide a window onto student culture, what students find here and the community they create together at Sky Islands. Become a Sky Islander and add your story.
Rogers Commons
Report
The big picture for Rogers Commons is provided here on map rendering, designed with the generous help of The Planning Center. It will take time and work to remake this area and give it a special sense of place and feeling of vitality.
But those of us at Sky Islands are invested in replanting, rebuilding, and altogether restoring the Rogers site as a public place that provides a healthy habitat for birds and trees, and for people to slow down and gather together. To honor the legacy that Rogers school has in the neighborhood, and its namesake Anne E. Rogers, we have named the larger site Rogers Commons.
