I founded Surya Chandra Yoga, LLC in 2018 to create a peaceful and safe space for the Rockford Community to practice and experience the many benefits of Yoga. With over 20 years of studying and practicing yoga and other forms of movement for health and well being it is my passion to share that joy with others.
Practice at your own level. All classes are beginner friendly yet challenging for the advanced practitioner as well. I received my 200 hr Yoga Teaching Certificate in 2010 and am also a Certified Prenatal Instructor. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. My classes are inspired by my focus on Classical Hatha for its optimal health benefits.

Located on Rockford's southeast side, at the edge of 8 acres of gorgeous woods, Surya Chandra yoga studio is a place of calm lighting, picturesque views, and a warm inviting atmosphere.
Each week the instructor teaches a new lesson, comprising various poses, breathing exercises, core work, relaxation, and some lore. Students learn and grow in their practice, according to their individual ability. While advanced techniques and options are often introduced, each class is suitable for students of any level. Beginners are welcome.
A typical class starts with a centering, then a gentle warm up series
