Mapwise
Real estate professionals including Realtors, Brokers, Developers, Appraisers, Surveyors, Engineers and Environmental Scientists rely on MapWise to get work done quicker and more efficiently. I use MapWise a number of different ways in the process of acquiring land and have always found it to be an incredibly useful tool.

Initially I use MapWise to "look" at a property on an aerial while overlaying various layers (wetlands, flood plain, elevations, etc.) to determine a rough idea of its buildable area. MapWise is then used to determine existing zoning, FLU and surrounding land uses to understand if a rezoning would be possible if needed.

Founder, Brian May has twenty six years of experience working with GIS software, hardware, data, and analysis. Before founding MapWise, Mr. May spent ten years working on enterprise GIS implementation for the St. Johns River Water Management District.

During his work with the government, he realized that government agencies generate a wealth of information that is useful to the real estate industry, but information was sometimes difficult to acquire and always difficult to use after acquiring it.Mr. May set out to change that by providing easy to use mapping related products and services that the real estate industry needed.

Some layers like Future Land Use are scale dependent and you cannot turn them on until you zoom in far enough.
MapWise collects large amounts of GIS data, Property Appraiser taxroll data, and aerial photography from numerous government sources. This data is organized, processed, standardized, and served up through web applications. The following links provide metadata that document the main GIS data layers available from MapWise.
