This review is long overdue. Jennie has been doing our taxes for the last five years now and we are appreciative of the incredible level of service provided. She is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and very responsive regarding our questions and communication with her. My wife and I have been working with Jeff Bergerson on our taxes since we moved to Saint Paul more than five years ago. Three years ago, I also started a small business that Jeff has been super-helpful with as far as taxes and other friendly guidance. He is friendly, thorough and well-versed in the ways of the IRS and new write-off options each and every year. We have never owed Fed or State taxes and generally get a nice chunk of change coming back to us in the form of refunds. We also have our some of our retirement investments managed by Jeff. My wife and I approached Bergerson Tax Services a few weeks ago and asked them to do our joint tax return. After leaving our paperwork with them (including last year's returns) they called us a few days later and said they weren't up to doing our return, and that we should find someone else to do it. The only complication in our tax situation is that we got a settlement from the power company for some power poles that they ran across our property.

Everyone should avoid this establishment at all costs - if you don't, you could be paying thousands in taxes for which you are not responsible.
I had three issues with Bergerson Tax Services:
1) Jeff Bergerson nearly cost me $12,000 by misinterpreting my eligibility for a tax credit. I have confirmed with a CPA and two other tax preparers that he was wrong. The CPA laughed and said his mistake looks like incompetence.
2) After our initial meeting, Jeff reached out to me to find for him information about another tax credit for which I am eligible, saying he couldn't find it because
