The Marshall Animal Hospital story begins with Michael Paul Anderson. He bought an established equine veterinary practice in 1971 and grew it into a full-service mixed-animal hospital. Through strong work ethic, he built it into a reputable practice based upon stellar client service and dedication to every pet.
Dr. Anderson improved animal care in the entire region with one exam room, a truck and working pens out back. In the tradition of noted author and veterinarian, Dr. James Herriot, Dr. Anderson treated all creatures great and small and created many memories that are still vivid in our hospital. His son, Dr. Jason Anderson, joined him in his practice in 1996 after working at multiple locations in San Antonio for two years.

Services
At Marshall Animal Hospital our mission is to treat your pet like family and in order to do that, everything starts at WELLNESS! Wellness is a twice-yearly exam, our core vaccinations, and laboratory testing. This helps the doctors to ensure that your family member is given the best of care. Examination - During your pet's exam the doctor will check their skin, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, heart, lungs, abdomen, and teeth.
Keeping your pet's teeth cleaned is essential to their health. Your pet can develop serious illnesses from swallowing bacteria for extended periods of time. It can eventually cause heart murmurs, strokes, kidney disease, and liver disease. By the time a canine reaches adulthood, 80% of them have already developed some form of gingivitis or periodontal disease.
The common question is, "Why do I need to have this done?". There are many reasons why spaying/neutering your pet should be performed, but the main reason is to improve your pet's health. Female dogs have a high incidence of cancers of the reproductive system. Spaying removes the ovaries and the uterus, preventing the production of estrogen, which leads to most of the reproductive cancers.
If your pet is feeling pain, LiteCure Laser Treatment has been successful in treating post-surgical pain and many acute chronic conditions. We now offer this pain-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment for your pets! Available at ALL locations! LiteCure is the brand of laser preferred by professional athletic trainers in the NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA, FIFA and the Olympics!
At Marshall Animal Hospital we treat your pet like family in our day and overnight boarding. When your pet is left in our care we treat it as one of our own, offering them a soft blanket and a bowl of fresh water and nutritious food close at hand. We take your pet outside three times a day so they get plenty of exercise and time to eliminate.

Worked me in same day. Very friendly staff. Received a call the next day to check on my dog (Harley) and received a thank you note in the mail the next week. Office visit and vaccines were very reasonable. Medications were a little higher than expected but feel I still got a good deal due to price of the other services. Will be taking my other animals there soon. Harley thanks you.

I am one that does reviews on places & people I tell it like it is good or bad. This place receives 5 stars from me today. This was my first time here. I was very happy with this place. Lindsey, girl at the desk was so nice & sweet. I'm sure she thought I was crazy telling her she reminds me of actress Emily Blunt 😃. Brittany, vets assistant was very sweet & nice & very good with my pup Penny. Mary Wheat the vet was also very nice & caring. Right now I highly recommend this veterinarian. If anything changes I will let y'all know. Penny says Thank you too.
