Mulching is a simple and affordable practice you can do to keep your trees happy and healthy. We recommend shredded hardwood mulch; twice or thrice ground is best. We don't recommend wood chips, as they are not the best choice for woody or herbaceous plants. Once you have a mulch ring established, you only need to top-dress it with an additional 1-2 inches of mulch each year to reap the amazing benefits.

Everyone was very easy to work with and very professional. They walked the property to get an understanding of what work needed to be done and followed up promptly with an estimate. They handled contacting diggers hotline prior to the service being performed to avoid any issues with gas/electric/cable, and came out with a crew and equipment to get the job done quickly, effectively, and cleaned up before leaving. Highly recommend.

I hired Colonial to remove two trees in my front yard. One tree was right next to my home, literally growing over the roof. After I requested the work, I immediately got a quote and a date for service. In the end, they came earlier than originally scheduled!! Colonial did such a nice and professional job taking down my trees, grinding the stump, and cleaning up afterward! Next step is finding the right tree to plant - I will definitely rely on Colonial to help me choose the right tree, plant it in the right spot, and take proper care to see it grow.

Expert tree care!! Removed a tall evergreen tree in a tight area with power lines and cables close by, and did it safely and efficiently. Also trimmed a very large honey locust, and it looks amazing. Their equipment is state of the art, and the team works very well together.

We had Colonial out to assess our very wooded property’s trees. The arborist was informative and we discussed what we should do and what was not necessary to do. The quote was much less than we thought it was going to be for removal of 5 dead trees as well as some caterpillar treatments and an ash tree treatment. We went ahead with the ash tree treatment to start with and they were out to complete it within a day. The workers were even kind enough to answer my millions of questions about the treatment itself. Would definitely recommend the services of Colonial and we will utilize them to take

I was unsure of who to use for tree removal and trimming. There are many tree companies out there, but few that do a quality job. Colonial contacted me quickly after my initial request, and an arborist came to my property to assess my trees shortly after. They told me the services I needed and those I didn't. On the day of service, the crew arrived on time and worked very professionally. Yes, tree removal is expensive, but I feel that I got a quality job for a fair price.
