Services
ProFed was initially chartered in 1933 as Fort Wayne Teachers Credit Union and was originally located in the homes of elected treasurers. Today, ProFed has a community charter and serves nine Northeast Indiana counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley Counties with a total of 12 branch locations.
Through life's many occasions, preparing for milestones often takes a little planning and a lot of saving. Purchasing a first home, setting aside children's college funds, planning for your family business; it all starts to add up. Whether you're creating a budget and a savings plan, planning for retirement, or opening your child's first savings account, we make it our goal to help you reach yours.
Your membership at ProFed starts with your savings. Your first $5.00 deposited becomes your share of the credit union. This makes you a member-owner of ProFed! What you do with the rest of your savings is up to you. Whether you're transferring funds to other shares or loans or building up your emergency fund, ProFed makes sure your money is always within reach.
It's never too early to start planning for your retirement. We offer both Traditional and Roth IRAs to help you start planning for your financial future, and you can get started with as little as $10.00. There are no enrollment or annual maintenance fees. If you are not sure which IRA is right for you, contact us, we have certified IRA specialists on staff available to help.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) work in connection with high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) to help save for medical expenses. Distributions are tax-free when used for qualified medical expenses, such as co-pays, prescriptions and more. Unlike flexible spending accounts, your unused funds roll over year after year so you don't lose what you've saved.

I’ve been banking with ProFed for years without issue…however, this year has been horrible! They rolled out a new app that has been a nightmare for everyone. They decided that rolling it out on the first of the month(when everyone’s bills are due) was a good idea. And Every visit I’ve had to a branch always has someone there trying to figure out how to use the app. It’s confusing, not user friendly, and has a really dated look. It’s just bad. And then somehow my card gets hacked so they stop the use of my card. That’s good, except the number that was given to activate my new card

Since I started my mortgage payments with ProFed, I have almost always enjoyed paying them over the phone, without a fee. Now, with the pandemic, and everyone practicing social distancing, and when paying over the phone can be a tremendous convenience, and more importantly, a tremendous safety benefit for everyone, ProFed starts a $5 fee for over the phone payments!! What a way to take advantage of a desire to be just that much safer! Shame on you, Pro-Fed!! What's the difference in how much work your teller has to do to push the buttons that enter my payment, whether I call it in, whether I'm
