Our goal is to provide the tools, space, and service to ensure your event goes as planned. Uptown Indigo is nestled in the heart of Uptown Shelby hidden inside the historic Campbell Building. With the highest view in Shelby, overlooking the city all the way to the North Carolina mountains, we have created an upscale, modern event space that goes above and beyond.
The reason so many couples travel to our venue from the surrounding region is because we offer a chic, industrial venue that has a big city vibe with small town service and charm. Our years of event management experience and dedicated service means that we go over the top to make sure your day is as special as you imagined.
There are nooks all around the Steeples venue designed to foster homey-intimacy and great conversation. Where guests don't want to miss the party on the dance floor, they party hard for your wedding. This microwedding had a magical rooftop sunset ceremony and then an elegant reception downstairs. Our old fashioneds have premium amarena cherries, top shelf bourbon, and a delightful atmosphere.
We're willing to work with you. It's important that you pay a 25% security deposit, and pay in full at least a week before your event. A lot of venues have fees that are thrown at you after you lock in your date. We pride ourselves in our transparency and our family business built on trust. We include tables, chairs, sound system, microphone, lighting, and much more in our packages without nickel-and-diming you.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The venue is OK. One significant issue is restroom space only one unisex toilet on 3rd floor which is not enough for 40 plus people at a dinner. Also the elevator is not user accessible and not attended constantly making it diificult for those with mobility issues. Nice space, but, could use a restroom update and requires some planning depending on those attending. So many variables with catering I will leave this for people to investigate on their own. --- Edit after reply as I said it is impoossible to review catering in a situation like this, so I did not

Our team was short staffed, due to Covid impact, but the show had to continue. Kaley, Angela, Ethan and Jasmine were there every step of the way to ensure we were assisted to the fullest in bringing a beautiful wedding together, including totally transforming the same room from ceremony to reception in less than an hour!
Jasmine's closing followup and sensitivity meant the world, and on top of all of the raving I could do over the staff, let's just give it up for the stunning venue. If you're considering booking with Uptown Indigo, stop pacing, and just do it. You will not be disappointed!!

Excellent!! Venue was rented for a wedding I was in & the place was breathtaking. They had everything set and organized. We were there Thursday night for the rehearsal dinner. Greeted kindly by Kaley. Taken to the third floor to eat dinner which was delicious lasagna. Later went to the rooftop to see where the wedding photos were going to be taken but as you see it's stunning when the sun is going down for those having evening events.

Look no further for the perfect wedding venue! Uptown Indigo is the most unique, inviting, versatile venue we looked at during our venue search process. It's also absolutely stunning. My husband and I found Uptown Indigo in 2019. COVID put a wrench in our plans to get married in 2020. They were nothing but sympathetic and accommodating during that very disappointing process of having to postpone. When it came time to start planning again Duncan didn't miss a beat. First impression...WOW! This is an amazing event venue. Had the privilege of attending a wedding here this weekend. While it is a venue where you would hire one of their recommended caterers, it deserves an amazing review. The dining hall located on the second floor up from the North Layfayette street level is spacious enough for guests up to 250. Full bar service is available in the dining hall as well.

I had my wedding and reception here and there aren’t enough stars to give this venue. It was such a fantastic day and I’m thankful for all of the help Duncan gave and wonderful suggestions for catering. The venue it’s self is topnotch with a perfect combination of the original craftsmanship and funky modern elements. The pictures online do not show how amazing this place is. It is a perfect place for any type of party formal or casual. We found this amazing establishment by googling event spaces in Shelby, NC from San Francisco (where we live). My husband connected with Duncan who could not be more accommodating with all our questions and concerns and it got only better from there. The space is beautiful and very classy. It is located in a fully restored department store. Duncan and his family have kept many of the original features intact from the 1920's and added a rooftop deck which gives 360 degrees of uptown Shelby and beyond. My husband and I were the first couple to get married at Uptown Indigo. The uptown atmosphere was incredible. I got so many compliments and text messages about our venue choice. We were able to save money in many ways, and we were able to plan our wedding extremely fast. My husband and I needed to get married rather quickly because David's father is having health problems - we really needed to have the wedding happen because his father wanted to be the best man.
