My garage door broke last night after 7PM. I called Paul at Nelson, and he was out there within the hour. He was very experienced and knowledgeable to his craft. My Entire power door setup hadn’t been updated in at least 3 decades. His installer Lupe was at my house at 9:30AM the very next day. He was very friendly and had the entire job from demo to completion done by noon. Incredible service. I highly recommend these guys

My realtor suggested that I should get this company to bring my garage door back up to code after our home inspection. After talking with Paul on the phone about my needs, he thought that all I needed was a tune up; thus, he reduced the price from a regular service call. He arrived promptly a couple days later: in 1/2 hour, he remounted the 2 sensors, added tension to the springs, checked the clutch pressure, tightened the belt, and lubed the door. I was struck by his efficiency and respect for the integrity of our old construction. This is the only phone call you need to make if your garage door

This happned on Feb 2020. My old wooden garage door slammed to the ground when the cable broke loose from the roller pin attachment. The roller came out from the track due to severe corrosion. After reading all reviews, I finally decided to call Nelson Garage Door 2 months later.
Paul showed up and assessed the issue. He started to explain 2 options for me.
Option # 1 was to replace damaged parts. But since my door is so outdated, parts availability are possibly scarce. If ever there are still on hand, these parts are expensive from suppliers due to the supply and demand.

I hope that I won't need garage repair service again anytime soon, but if I do, Nelson will be top on my list. Someone, who will remain nameless, neglected to put his/her vehicle in park and rolled into the garage door as it was coming down. I was livid! I head out with mallet in hand in a feeble attempt to knock the pin back on track. As if I really know what I'm doing. Frustration quickly set in and I went on a mad search for emergency service. I neglected to mention that this all transpired after 10pm on a Sunday night!

Our garage door had been a little unstable as it opened with our Genie garage door opener and then suddenly it would not go higher than 4 feet or so. Called Nelson at about 10am and by 2pm Miguel was at our garage assessing the problem. He found one cable had disconnected and fixed that. He was also very honest about the condition of the entire setup. He wrote on the invoice exactly what needed to be replaced, quoting the price for all necessary repairs and parts needing to be replaced soon. Really appreciated the quick service and the complete honesty about the situation.

I was asked to get quotes to replace 118 garage doors for our condo development. After reviewing 5 companies we decided to go with Nelson Garage Door. They gave us terrific pricing, spelled out exactly what was to be done and there were no surprises. Paul had also built up a stellar reputation doing work for individual home owners in the Courtyards of Westchester. There are a couple of trades that always seem to be on the fringe of fly by night, unreliable, trunk slammers. Chimney sweeps, air duct cleaning services and overhead door companies top my list. I had a recoil spring snap on my garage door on the holiday weekend, so I'm done. It's a very wide and heavy door which took four people to lift so I could remove my cars.
I called on Labor Day and left a message as a non-emergency. Late than night, the call was returned. That surprised me. By noon the next day, my garage door was opening and closing as smooth as ever.

For a fixed fee, they came out and adjusted and did necessary maintenance on our garage door. They also moved our sensors as the regulations have changed (regarding child safety). For an additional fee, they added a support strut across the door where the previous owner had apparently banged into the door, thus causing it over time to not close properly.
