We purchased the Spruce Drive Cabin in 2015 and have been hard at work restoring it to its original charm ever since. Location, Location, Location! Including Town, National Park, Shops, Restaurants, the famous Stanley Hotel, Fall River and more. Our cabin is within a VERY EASY walk to all that the Town center of Estes Park has to offer.

This is legitimately the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Like cleaner than rooms that cost hundreds of dollars. The rooms are a touch dated but honestly who cares. They're cozy, its affordable and you could literally eat off the floor. I will note, the showers are quite tiny. Like college dorm stall shower that requires some flexibility and yoga moves if you plan on shaving your legs. Probably not super ideal for anyone of larger stature (I'm 5'6" and bumped the walls a few times). HOWEVER. I feel that doesn't even matter after a long day of hiking in RMNP when you come back to a room literally

Booked for one night. Had some difficulties with the electricy while I was there, but management offered a full refund without even being asked (had electrician working on the issue when we were checking out). Other than that, the rooms were very clean and taken care of. The location was about 10 minutes from the wedding venue we were attending so worked out great, was also about 5 minutes from restaurants.

- Customer service: good.
- Cleanliness: ok.
- Food: bad. No "continental breakfast" as advertised, just some cereal, snacks, bananas, coffee and tea.
- Price: very expensive, $190 per night.
- Would I recommend it? NO.
** Suggestions: new furniture, renovation, lower prices to compete with big hotel chains, better breakfast.

Decent smaller hotel where you can park in front of your room (if you aren't out too late). I had a major issue with the shower in my room, but they righted it quickly. It would be better, I think, if the parking was designated to the rooms so those of us that stay out late don't have to park away from the room and carry everything down the sidewalk.

Our family enjoyed a 3 night stay here as we explored the Rocky Mtn. Natl. Park and downtown Estes Park. They allowed early check in. The grounds and building were well maintained. Our room was clean and in good repair. Lighting in the room was a little strange - no central light fixture, only a few lamps, so a little dark. We liked the mountain view from our room. A good location for all that we were doing in the area.
Apparently under fairly recent new ownership ( a local family bought it only 6 months ago).

My boyfriends family has been staying here once a year for the past couple of years, and since they got new owners we had such a terrible experience. First night we got there we found pee stains on the covers of our beds. It was so unsanitary. The first three nights our shower only had boiling hot water. It burned all of us, when we told the people up front they did nothing about it the first night. We tried calling them 5 times early in the evening and we received no response nor a call back. We loved saddle & surrey before. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to make the customers

We made a reservation 6 months ago with the old owners for our favorite room (queen with kitchen). When we checked in we we were booked into a regular queen room. We were told the old owners handed the new owners a stack of papers with the current reservations and they were entered verbatim by the new owners. Well my reservation clearly said “queen with kitchen” and I showed it the receptionist.
We have come here every summer for the past few years but we won’t be back. We were loyal customers under the old owners but we cannot support the current management.

My family were repeat customers of Saddle and Surrey and have stayed here previously in 2019 and 2020. Had great stays here during those 2 years. The previous owner/manager was a lovely lady, and she locked in a rate for us and honored that rate the next year (we kept reserving for subsequent years to keep our “locked in rate”). My wife and I made a reservation for our stay in 2021 on our last visit to Estes Park in 2020.
Well, when we arrived, we were informed by the host that the room we reserved with a kitchenette a year ago was already taken. We were offered a downgraded room, at a rate

We were in Estes Park for a wedding and spent 4 nights at the Saddle and Surrey. I was worried that our late arrival would be an issue, but it wasnt... our room key was available for us even with an 11 pm arrival! The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a mini fridge and microwave (some rooms have kitchenettes). The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The heater and a/c worked perfectly and the water in the bathroom/shower heated up in 2 seconds flat (thank goodness for natural gas). The only issue I had was the tiny shower stall, but the super hot water made up for that!

In 30 years of travel both overseas and in the states, I have never come across such a rude clerk. Plus even though we had a confirmation number they had over booked ( Labor Day Weekend) and the clerk said too bad not my problem! WHAT? We got there at check in time so we were not late we were just unlucky!! The same thing happened to a family of 5 checking in on Friday night, same weekend. Ugh... they need an overhaul of clerks to get their act together. There are MANY OTHER NICER motels and hotels here so don't even bother.

The owner was very polite and welcoming when we checked in. The room was very clean and very comfy. Felt like a little cabin in the woods. Bed was very comfortable and clean bathroom was generously sized. Would stay here again for sure. Thank you for having a very nice place that isn't overly priced.

I enjoyed the heck out of this little motel. The people who did check in were friendly. The rooms were ample, and the sheets on the bed were particularly great. We would have enjoyed it more if the breakfast was a little more exciting, but we did get a kick out of the donuts and the raisin bran. I swear the lady at the desk promised golden grahams, thus getting my hopes up, but alas, it was not to be. I highly recommend making this your spot in Estes Park.

I booked a double room - 2 queen beds for 4 people. Called to confirm my reservation and they told me that they only had a single queen room available and haven't had double rooms available for months. Saddle and Surrey either needs to fix their online reservation booking or honor the reservation. Horrible customer service! If you're staying in Estes, there are plenty of honest proprietors.

This place was a great place to spend two nights while while we explored Rocky Mountain National Park. We like to stay at local motels when we travel, and this was one of the best. The rooms are immaculate, beds were comfortable, and the staff was super friendly. Clarinda gave us great recommendations for dinner, and even showed us a shortcut to the park. I would most definitely stay here again!

This motel was recommended to us by someone who stays there each year during the Long's Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival. My room had a double bed, sofa, desk, table with chairs, microwave, mini fridge, and big TV mounted on the wall plus bathroom. My friend's room had two double beds, sofa, huge closet, complete kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, big TV, and bathroom. Both rooms were reasonably priced considering all the rooms in town were sold out for the festival. Free wifi and cleaner than any motel I've ever stayed in. Interiors are funky, but very

Ah, the Saddle & Surrey Motel! This has been our go to place for the past five or six years. I almost don't want to review it so I can keep the secret.
We've been visiting Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park at least once and most years twice, for more than 25 years. In that time we've stayed at every class of accommodation to be had in the area. Motels, hotels, resorts, cabins, condos, B&Bs, even the venerated Stanley Hotel. Every one of them was either sadly deficient in some critical way or so outrageously expensive, sometimes both, we never wanted to return

A great motel. Right off the beaten path of Rocky Mountain National Park. Cheap, CLEAN, friendly staff and the bathrooms and terrific. Newly remodeled and clean, clean, clean.
The owner is a European woman who is very nice and welcomes strangers with open arms. Great motel when your on a tight budget.
