Fascinated with baking and cake decorating her entire life led her to attend the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University, followed by an internship in New York City with renowned Cake Designer, Elisa Strauss. From there, she worked in several restaurants and bakeries in New York City until she eventually started her own business in Brooklyn, where she made wedding cakes and hosted cake decorating classes.
As I got older and struggled through some health issues, I began experimenting with more natural, unrefined ingredients and found that it had a significant impact on the way I felt. As I switched out all processed sugar and flour in my sweets with organic, unrefined ones, I was surprised to find they actually seemed to taste better, and even more incredible, they didn't leave me with the dreaded carb crash!.

My daughter sent me some money for my birthday and told me to get some cake. I was at Fuzzy's yesterday afternoon having some breakfast tacos and I remembered about the Uptown Sweet Shoppe being in the same Center so I stopped in and got a couple of cupcakes, one chocolate and one German chocolate. They were both wonderful. I'm usually not too impressed with most cakes and cupcakes from any place that isn't home made and these were absolutely wonderful. The buttercream frosting was spot-on, creamy and delicious, just the right amount of sweetness. The girl even told me their frosting

Extremely friendly people and so helpful. I was glad to know they had gluten free products.
I got 3 gluten free cupcakes along with one of the gluten free chocolate chip cookies. The taste was good.
The only problem is it is a bit pricey. I got gluten free pastries from other places for much cheaper. Here it is for each cupcake over $4.50. That can add up fast. Would definitely recommend if you are gluten free and craving some good sweets.

I've ordered custom made cookies for my son who can't do dairy as well as order cupcakes and other treats for my family who can have anything. The cookies are amazing and my family couldn't get enough of her desserts m.
You will always be greeted when you enter. Everyone here is so friendly.
The times I stop in I always find a few new things (I can't have them but they look so good) she has a cupcake display case and a cake and other treats in another area. She has gluten free cookies and dairy free cookies as well.
She sells non food merchandise which is nice just incase
